Gloss: The longest lasting Iโve ever used is, hands down, LANCรดME - L'Absolu Lacquer. Unfortunately Sephora doesnโt carry all shades (there are over 30 of โem). These glosses are formulated to be buildable: 1 coat is sheer, 2 coats is demi-sheer (or opaque, depending on the shade and your natural lip color), and 3 coats is full opacity. Itโs ridiculously glassy shiny, and each of the 18 shades I own lasts for hours. This gloss wonโt fully survive a meal (no gloss will), but it will hold up to several drinks of anything. Only 2 of my shades bleed/feather at all, and itโs just a tiny bit; nothing a lip primer barrier or a perimeter of lip liner canโt prevent. The LโAbsolu Lacquers are my favorite line of glosses.
Liner: I agree with others about PAT MCGRATH LABS - Permagel Ultra Lip Pencil being the longest lasting lip liner. That stuff does. Not. Budge. It usually survives a meal when the lipstick Iโve paired with it doesnโt. ๐
Bullets (either cream or matte finishes): in this category, I can offer more budget friendly options for high pigmentation and longevityโwith the caveat that most bullets will wear down on your lips throughout the day, as is the nature of bullet formulas. Some leave a very nice stain behind, though, that doesnโt go away until you wipe it off. I can recommend the ColourPop Lux Creme or Matte bullets; Iโm not sure how many shades CP still sells, but for USD $8 theyโre worth a try.
For USD $20, Iโll recommend Origins Blooming Bold Lipstick. I own 4 or 5 shades and love โem all. Theyโre highly pigmented, last a long time, and they leave a beautiful stain behind as they wear down. I still canโt believe Origins, of all brands, made these!
I have a some shades of MAKE UP FOR EVER - Artist Rouge Lipstick that are also boldly pigmented and long lasting. A couple of shadesโlike my favorite, C603, a deep dark blueโare so long lasting, the stain they leave on my lips refuses to come off unless I use makeup remover + Vaseline to remove it.
And then thereโs
PAT McGRATH LABS MatteTranceโข Lipstick Flesh 3 109
and PAT MCGRATH LABS - LuxeTranceโข Lipstick, both of which have a nice long weartime and full opacity. I think PMG is phasing out the LuxeTrance line, which saddens me because I love those bullets. But I also love the MatteTrances. Theyโre pricey, but you could wait for the next Sephora sale to grab one or two. Also, add yourself to PMG directโs mailing list to find out about upcoming sales or get promo codes.
Liquid mattes: I donโt wear this kind of lipstick often, but my favorites in terms of performance, comfort on the lips, and color payoff are
NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment American Woman
and Black Moon Cosmetics Liquid to Matte. I want to also recommend a PMG liquid matte but I donโt think itโs available anymore; thatโs too bad, because itโs another of my favorite formulas.
To help any kind of lipstick last longer: consider using a lip primer, if you donโt already. I always use one with liquid mattes, but also occasionally with lipsticks known to bleed/feather a lot or wear down much too quickly and unevenly. My primer of choice is MAC Prep + Prime Lip.
I hope some of this was helpful!
