I use essences primarily for hydration. I know essences offer a lot of other benefits other then hydration like brightening but I use a vitamin C serum for that. I have combo but mostly dry skin so hydration is the most important component when I'm looking for an essence. My favs are Hanskin Hyaluron Skin Essence, Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence, and the Whamisa Organic Flowers Deep Rich Essence Toner.

I like Klairs. The comment about all Korean brands soon being cruelty free is unfortunately incorrect. Any brand that sells its products in mainland China is not cruelty free. Whole Foods recently started selling sheet masks that are cruelty free.

Korean skincare is actually pretty affective for me since we have the same skin type. As long as you stay on that routine because if you don’t then you’ll break out even more than before. It’s happened to me once and I’m not gonna try it again for sure. Tony Moly’s peach punch foaming cleanser is magic in a bottle and you should really go buy. It $16 for 10 oz and all you need is a little bit. Use tea tree oil also even tho it’s not Korean skincare it really does help with the redness. Hopefully this will help and if it doesn’t then just use tea tree oil and aloe Vera (most of the stuff I just mentioned, I bought from ulta since they have the wider and more cheaper selection, not really sure if Sephora has these things)

So, I have found a miracle product for those of us prone to annoying and sudden breakouts. I moved to Korea at the beginning of this year and that move came with a lot of changes for my body. Most importantly it changed my birth control, which helped keep my acne in check. A few months after I arrived I had to change to Korean birth control, which is nice but not as strong so my acne comes a little more frequent and more severe (especially around period time). A friend of mine noticed my breakouts and told me about a new balm innisfree came out with. Soon after I caught it on sale and bought the set. The bija cica balm from innisfree is life! I used it one night during a breakout. I woke up the next morning and I literally didn't have a spot on my face. The toner is nice, but really drying. I only use the facewash if the breakout is horrible because it's also a little drying. The balm is not really drying and I can use it often without getting dry patches. My breakouts start with small bumps that take about 1 day to get really red and sore. I generally have very clear skin, but when I break out it hurts and it's noticeable. The second I notice small spots coming up I start using the balm and it never goes any further. They are gone within a few days and never get read or swollen. It's inexpensive and a little goes a long way. I would 100% recommend this product^^

Hi @courtneyinsea,     Wonderful haul! I have my beloved LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask and LANEIGE - Lip Sleeping Mask. I've always wanted to try Sulshasoo products. I've heard great things about their cushion foundations and sheet masks. I've also heard rave reviews regarding the Etude House Lash Serum. Like every woman in the world, I want long lashes and am interested in trying that product.   Stay Gorgeous, Penelope

I definitely second the Laneige recommendation, especially LANEIGE - Lip Sleeping Mask and LANEIGE - Two Tone Lipstick. Etude House and PeriPera are also both really fun brands and I've been really pleased with the quality of their products. I've gotten multiple samples of the BELIF - The True Cream Aqua Bomb from Sephora and have really enjoyed it. I'm not using it at the moment as I'm testing out a Japanese skin care range, but it is next up in my skincare rotation.

Regarding your routine...if it works for you, by all means continue - everyone has different skin <3. That being said, I would still suggest keeping a tab on the number of different items used simultaneously in case you have a reaction, but also to try and figure out what's beneficial and what's just fluff. my routine below:Morning:splash with water (cleanser if skin feels oily)toner: water (I'm experimenting to see if toner is actually beneficial for me)lotion: gel in the summer, gel+oil in wintersunscreen Night:oil cleanse + foam cleanse (IF I went outside, otherwise just foam)toner: waterlotion: gelWeekly: BHA exfoliant about twice a week

@anon232 I would stay away from anything that is from the salicylate family of ingredients! You might get a cross reaction from them ! Avoid Pepto-Bismol since it contains bismuth subsalicylate ( just in case you didn’t know about that one ) ! I have very recently found out that I’m allergic to salicylic acid but however acetylated salicylic acid ( Aspirin ) doesn’t give me any allergic reactions!
