Skin redness

Hello! I am new here. I currently use CorsRX skincare and it has helped my skin tremendously, but I still have redness. What skincare will best help with the redness from rosacea?

Re: Skin redness

azealic acid is amazing for rosacea and acne. i also had acne prone red hyperpignmented skin for a while. I had a korean friend in college, she completely switched me to kbeauty brands (except dermalogica i still use them) I absoulutely love skin 1004, suhlwasoo and mediheal if you need help with redness. I also know a lot of people like Dr. jart for rosacea, it was specifically made by its founder for people with that kind of skin condition.

Re: Skin redness

Hello @SongCyndi and welcome to BIC! Couple questions for you:

  1. Which COSRX products do you use?

  2. Do you already use anything specific for your rosacea—maybe something a dermatologist prescribed or recommended?

If you don’t already use azelaic acid, that might be a good addition to your routine. It can reduce redness and very gently exfoliate. Derms like to recommend it for rosacea. In the US, you can buy up to 10% strength over the counter or get a prescription for 15-20%. Azelaic acid does have a side effect: when you first start using it, your skin might feel itchy. I dealt with that during my first 2 weeks of use, and then the itchies stopped—and my skin’s normally quite reactive, yet it acclimated well to azelaic acid.

My favorite OTC 10% azelaic acid serums are #Paula's Choice 10% Azelaic Booster for Redness Relief 1 oz / 30 ml and Peach Slices Redness Relief Azelaic Acid Serum (available at Ulta and direct from Peach Slices/Peach & Lily). I alternate them each night throughout the week because the PC serum also contains 0.5% salicylic acid. You might also consider The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% Cream for Redness and Blemish-Prone Skin: note that is has a silicone texture, vs. PC’s cream texture and PS’s lightweight lotion texture.

I use a 15% azelaic acid serum each morning by Niche Beauty Lab, a brand located in Europe; I don’t know how they’ll handle the tariff madness, but I’ve gotten packages from them this month with no trouble. You should talk to a derm or your primary care doc before starting any Rx strength product though.
