Salicylic acid allergy

I am allergic to salicylic acid (and aspirin.) Using it on my face makes it break out in hives. Taking aspirin has the same effect (though thankfully not on my face! but my limbs, instead.)

I do not seem to be affected by willow bark extract, though. Therefore, can anyone predict how I would (or not) react to betaine salicylate?

@anon232 I would stay away from anything that is from the salicylate family of ingredients! You might get a cross reaction from them ! Avoid Pepto-Bismol since it contains bismuth subsalicylate ( just in case you didn’t know about that one ) ! 

I have very recently found out that I’m allergic to salicylic acid but however acetylated salicylic acid ( Aspirin ) doesn’t give me any allergic reactions!
