Sephora Rewards Bazaar Previews and Discussions

A thread for updates on the Rewards Bazaar, including previews of upcoming rewards and discussion regarding the upcoming rewards and questions.

New rewards are posted on Tuesdays and Thursdays - usually right around 9 am PST / 12 pm EST

General information:

• The Rewards Bazaar is supposed to have new point perks released on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 am and 5pm PST
• There is no set time for the perks to be released - we have to wait and see when they become available between 9 and 5
• However, so far the rewards have been released almost exactly around 9 am PST
  There seem to be only a few perks added at a time (each day)
• Some perks will be listed as "coming soon" and may arrive on a later date
• The newly added perks will range from 100 points to 50,000 points
  Sephora's T&C state that the larger perks (750 points +) are only available online
• The smaller 100-500 point perks are available in store, while supplies last There are limited quantities of the perks available
• We aren't sure why the rewards seem to appear on different devices/browsers at different times There may not be any "big" point perks added.
• Some days we may only see smaller 100, 250, or 500 point perks added.

This is...pretty terrible lol. Also if 5% off is 350 points then shouldn't 10% off be 700 points?? (Or ideally less)

@SportyGirly125  Haha, “exclusions apply”... 🙄 Ugh, why can’t Sephora just give us a true cash-for-points option? (I get why they may not want to, but that doesn’t mean they can’t do it.) I’d rather convert however many of my points I want into dollars off, whenever I want, instead of being forced into these low % discount tiers. And I assume this discount promo code wouldn’t stack with any other codes, because that’d be too useful for customers. Sigh. 

The only positive (for customers) I see is this new system applying to all customers, not just rouge. I’ve heard this system won’t replace the current rewards system in January; it’ll just be a test pilot running alongside the rewards system we know and love—err, complain about. 😄 I’ll be interested in seeing how many people take advantage of this new concept. But I’m not sold on it at all.

I think it was a year or two ago when Sephora was rolling out changes to the rewards program, they said that the average reward return value on BI points would be about 5%.  

A Rouge client, for example, would have spent about $667 to accrue 1000 points (earning at a rate of 1.5 points per dollar, assuming no point multipliers).  A 5% return value on $667 is about $35.  For a 15% discount to equal $35, that client would have to make another purchase totaling $235.  

As @GG84 said, if you're planning to make a large purchase, this might be worth it.  Knowing my own spending habits and with so many more competitive offers out there, no way would I purchase enough at Sephora with only a 15% discount as an incentive, to earn at least a 5% return on 1000 points.  A hard pass on this "reward" for me.

Honestly don't like these perks lol. Maybe unless we can stack with the already 15-20% off sales.

I went to a sephora near me bc they had the SKII essence as a 100 pt perk and I wanted to cash out on my points I've been holding onto for ages if they were changing the system. They told me it's a pilot program to see how popular it is and it's not replacing the current rewards system yet. Also told me we will not be able to combine them with the regular sales - so it'll still be one promo per order. 

I wish I'd asked for a few less of the SKIIs since they're not changing it but too late now 😄

@xcicee you are doing what I do! trade in points for a zillion 100pt rewards of one thing. For me, it was the Dr Gross aha daily wipes. I got a dozen boxes of those when it was a point perk. I had to go to two Sephoras.

LOL thanks!! I have been hoarding for about a decade now and I usually use them sparingly. I look for good value in my points + something I will actually use. I usually redeem mini lipsticks and I got that Jo Malone cologne for 1500 points. Skincare you actually use is a great way to spend them!

Just wanted to post that I managed to score the $50 reward using the App, at 8:59am PST. My previous $100 reward I also scored on the App, but after 9am... I think it was 9:17am? Anyways, hope this helps someone who is still trying to get one. I seem to always fail on the web (goes OOS in my basket) but seem to be successful 50% of the time using the App.

I’m so stoked I got this reward! It was worth saving my points for but still I don’t think it’s worth $2000-2000 points.. I’m just happy that I got to redeem a reward that looks cool and worth getting! I’ll share when I receive it!

Just scored a $25 reward for 1000 points. Wish it was $50 for 1500 but I’m not gonna be picky. Wasn’t even looking for it but was pleasantly surprised to see it added and go thru! Good luck girls. Also, I used the Sephora website as opposed to the app. I’ve seen people seem to have better luck with the actual website.
