I love seeing other peoples empties! So I decided to make a board where people could post pictures of their empties, or just tell us about them! I'd also be interested in knowing whether you're repurchasing anything or not.
March 2016 Empties
Overdue ... I haven't posted since I left for my semester abroad. Anyway, March was kind of a race to finish as many products as I could. The next months won't be as great for empties since I mostly brought new products with me.
Bath & Body Works Moonlight Path Gentle Foaming Hand Soap : This is one of my favorite hand soaps from B&BW. The scent is not too strong but it still lasts long enough on the skin. It’s great to use all year long and it doesn’t dry up my hands. * Would repurchase if it comes back during a SAS, meanwhile I still have one or two backups left at home.
Lush Mask of Magnaminty Face and Back Mask : This is my favorite mask ! It makes my skin feel very clean and improves its appearance. Also, I feel like the results are very long lasting. I also use it on my arms once in a while to help with my KP and it’s been great for that too. * Already repurchased it & will keep on doing so in the future.
The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Body Butter : I enjoyed this body butter a lot ! I bought it because I really like the peach scent and it turned out that the formulation was perfect for my skin. The product absorbed really well and quickly. It also didn’t leave my skin greasy. Finally, it made my skin super moisturised. * Have a backup and will buy it again in the future when The Body Shop has sales.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Sorbet (Sample) : While I love the original Daisy Eau So Fresh, this one lasts much longer on my skin. The smell is beautiful and not too overly floral. It’s a great balance between floral and fresh in fact. Perfect for spring and summer ! * Have purchased a full size. Unfortunately it was limited edition so I won’t be able to repurchase it after.
Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation (Not Pictured) : Awesome foundation ! There are few foundations who truly match my skin color but this one is spot on. I enjoyed the fact that it kept my skin from being oily when using it. Coverage is great and the product stayed in place even without a primer. Didn’t cause breakouts. * Already have repurchased.
Foodaholic Collagen Natural Essence Mask (Not pictured) : This made my skin look beautiful and well moisturised. The results however are not super long lasting. The skin feels firmer after using it. Not my favorite mask, but still not bad. * Already have some backups. I think it’s not available anymore so I won’t repurchase it.
The Saem Collagen Seven Element Mask Sheet (Not pictured) : The result is not the most phenomenal but it’s a great sheet mask to use when you want an extra dose of collagen. It also left my skin feeling moisturised and it didn’t irritate it. * Would eventually repurchase, but it’s not available locally or on websites I usually use.
John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Colour Protecting Moisturising Conditioner : This did a wonderful job and the only reason this is in the « like » section is because of the smell that I really disliked. My hair felt moisturized after every use and it gave a great glow. I also enjoy the packaging that John Frieda products have since it’s really easy to squeeze all the product out of the tube. * Would repurchase, but I will try other options first.
Bath & Body Works Mad About You Shea & Vitamin E Shower Gel : Bath & Body Works shower gels work really well for me and so did that one. It was a nice floral smell which was quite fruity as well. The smell was interesting, even though not my favorite from Bath & Body Works. * Already have a backup and would repurchase in the future when my stash gets significantly smaller.
Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche Eau De Toilette 20ml Refill : This is a really nice scent, but I feel like it is still a bit too mature for me. I used it mostly on work days. I’m sure I will appreciate it more later in life. Lasting power was good, but not the best on my skin. * I have 2 other refills like this one to use up. Might repurchase later on.
Etude House Essence Mask Hyaluronic Acid : This worked wonderfully to calm my skin during allergies. It didn’t irritate and was ultra soothing. It also helped with the redness I had. Only reason why this is not in the love category is because the Etude House sheet masks really don’t seem to fit my face well and don’t stay in place. * Would repurchase if it was available locally or on sale.
Laneige Balancing Emulsion for Combination to Oily Skin (Sample) : This lasted me for 2-3 uses, so I can’t say that I saw instant major results. However, it did not make my skin oily and was moisturising. * Would consider repurchasing a full size in the future to see if it’s efficient or not.
Quo Luxury Cotton Pads : The Quo cottons don’t leave any plush/ressidue on your face and are quite soft too. I prefer the square ones to remove my makeup, since they are a bit bigger. * Already have backups and will keep on repurchasing these cotton pads in the future.
Lush Stardust Bath Bomb : A nice bath bomb to use in the winter, but also all year long. It smelled really good and the water looked beautiful after using it. However, I feel like the scent could have lasted a bit longer. Not the most spectacular bath bomb, but very enjoyable. * I think I have a backup of it back home. Will repurchase in the future too.
Soap & Glory The FABPORE Triple Action Purifying T-Zone Cloths : These wipes did a very good job at removing makeup and cleaning up my skin at first, but sadly the packaging does not have a plastic closure and it dried up really fast. They weren’t very moist to begin with, so that was a bummer. Other than that, the first uses were great and it had a nice scent too. * Will not repurchase unless the packaging is improved.
Etude House I Need You Lemon Sheet Mask x 3 (Old Packaging) : Almost done with my stash of these sheet masks ! As I wrote in the February Empties post, the brightening effect of that sheet mask wasn’t spectacular at all and didn’t last very long either. The mask didn’t fit my eye area at all and did sting my eyes at times. * Needless to say, I won’t repurchase these ones. The Face Shop ones work a lot better with my skin.
Lush Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb : The smell of that bath bomb didn’t seem to last for more than 10 minutes when I tried it, which was a bummer. I did enjoy it while it lasted and the bomb also turned the bath water into a pretty blue color. * I would be willing to try it again to see if I got a dud or not.
Organix Sensually Soft Tsubaki Blossom Shampoo : Talk about inconsistent results ! Sometimes it’d leave my hair very beautiful while other times it’d make it horribly dry. Very disappointing. Not knowing what to expect was a major turn off and I couldn’t wait to be done with that bottle. *Will not repurchase.
Etude House I Need You Pearl Extract Sheet Mask : This sheet mask left my skin feeling very oily even after having rub the serum into my skin as much as possible. It did sightly brighten my skin after use, but only 2-3 hours later the results were not visible anymore. Also, as with every other Etude House sheet masks I have tried, the fit was not great for my face and especially the eye area. * Will never repurchase.
April 2016 Empties
What a slow month .. Hopefully the first and last one for this year !
Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 (Sample) : Wonderful product ! It really hydrates well and it’s non sticky. It’s a big plus that it has sun protection too. You don’t have to reapply constantly too, unlike some other lip balms. The only con is that the product is so creamy that you always have to be careful when using it. It breaks easily and I guess it would melt quite fast on a hot summer day. * I will rebuy it in the future. Have no backups for the moment.
The Face Shop Intense Moisture MasCream Sheet : I used this because my skin was itchy and sensible because of allergies. It is soaked with cream so it was much more moisturising than regular cotton sheet masks. The product absorbed really quickly in my skin and it calmed it. The smell is pleasant and the mask fit was great. * I already have backups of it and will buy again in the future.
The Face Shop Real Nature Face Mask Aloe : That is a lifesaver mask that I like to use once in a while, when needed. This helped to calm my skin during allergies and to make it look noticeably less red. It also hydrates the skin really well. * Already have backups of this and I will repurchase in the future.
The Face Shop Real Nature Face Mask Avocado : This was my first time using that sheet mask and I must say that it was very hydrating ! It is designed for dry skin. I used it when my skin felt dry because of allergies. It absorbed quickly into my skin and was not irritating. * I would buy again in the future, especially for fall & winter time. I don’t have backups for the moment.
The Face Shop Real Nature Face Mask Honey : This mask made my skin feel hydrated and soft. It did not irritate my face and it didn’t make my skin oily after using. * Even though it is not the mask who gives the most spectacular results on my skin, I would repurchase if it’s available at my store during a future sale. I don’t have any backups at the moment.
Etude House I Need You Lemon Sheet Mask : Finally finished my stash of Etude House lemon sheet masks ! As I wrote in my previous Empties posts, the brightening effect of that sheet mask wasn’t spectacular at all and didn’t last very long either. The mask didn’t fit my eye area at all and did sting my eyes at times. * Needless to say, I won’t repurchase these ones. The Face Shop ones work a lot better with my skin.
The Face Shop Real Nature Face Mask Mung Bean : Bought this & used this in hope that it would help with breakups, but sincerely I didn’t see any difference after using it. It does not irritate, but that’s about it. It didn’t help controil oily skin either. * Have backups to use, but I don’t plan on repurchasing later. I much prefer to use The Face Shop Clean Face Soothing Face Mask For Oily Skin and will rebuy this one instead.
Secret Baby Powder Roll-On Antiperspirant/Deodorant : While this product helped with odor, my armpits still got wet once in a while. It was quite uncomfortable and the product also made my armpits itchy occasionally. * I have another one to use, but I won’t repurchase in the future.
Thanks @kelloua The Face Shop is the only korean brand I have locally and so far so good, I always had great results with the masks (except a very few ones) ! It's also great that they often come up with a "Buy 10 Get 5 Free" sale
Is that the Paula's Choice BHA Gel? What do you think of that and have you ever tried the liquid? I love the liquid and just ordered another one the day before yesterday. I was going to order a sample of the gel, but it just missed the sample cut. I love that she offers the chance to buy extra samples, but I have too many samples to justify ever buying them. On my next order, I may get a sample of the gel though.
Equate makeup removing wipes - I really love these. They remove my makeup and don't sting my eyes.
Sexy hair Soy Tri-wheat leave in - holy amazing. I can definitely tell when I don't use this. It keeps my hair tangle free and manageable. I try to stock up when it goes one sale
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue - one of my favorite perfumes. It's light and fresh. I've already purchased a full size bottle.
Dove Cucumber & Green Tea Deodorant - keeps my pits dry and un-smelly. Works great for sensitive underarms.
Bath & Body Works Strawberry, Bourbon, & Vanilla Shower Gel - love this scent! Lathers well, and gets me clean.
Shisedo Cotton - really like that this doesn't ball up or get caught in my lashes. Definitely want to buy this again.
Kate Somerville Exfolikate - love this stuff. I use this 1 time a week and my skin likes it.
Living Proof Restore Shampoo & Conditioner - smells good, kept my hair soft. I just love my Redkem Extreme more.
Biore Nose Pore Strip - so satisfying seeing all this little gunk trees on it after you take it off.
FAB Radiance Pads - I really like these but noticed they left my skin a little sticky after a while.
MAC Oil Control Lotion - apply before makeup application and it helps with my oily mess.
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Primer - like this, smoothes my face leaving it smooth and flawless. Also like that it doesn't contribute to my oil problem, but helps keep it at bay.
This is my first month actively working on empties! I've been a sample hoarder for years, and I'm one of those people who uses something once but feels like they have to hold onto it instead of using it up. This thread is motivating me to use up what I have so I don't feel so bad about buying more
Amika Dry Shampoo x2 - obviously a favorite, lol
Redken Pillow Proof - made my hair air dry quite a bit faster.
DevaCurl One Condition - smells SO GOOD. I actually have straight hair, but it made my hair really soft.
Dr. Brandt Needles No More Mask - my skin looked and felt awesome after using this! I accidentally used it as an all-over moisturizer before I read the directions, but it made my skin feel so nice.
Philosophy Mint Mojito Cupcake
It's a 10 Lite
Shrinking Beauty lotion
Philosophy Raspberry Sorbet
Living Proof Restore Instant Repair
Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair mask
Verb Leave-in Mist
Sephora Green Tea Mask
Origins Retexturizing Rose Clay Mask - took FOREVER to wash it all off, and my skin did not look or feel good afterwards - it looked red and uneven.
Dr. Jart Pore Master Patch - the pore patch, the first part of the treatment, was just a typical pore strip. The second step, the moist nose strip, kept sliding off my face, so I took it off early. My pores didn't look much cleaner than before.
Exuviance Daily Antioxidant Peel Pad - I think this may have been one of the single grossest things I've used on my skin. My face felt disgustingly sticky after using it. The next day, I had three new breakouts. I've never used a peel pad that felt like this one.
I think the Hum that people got in their Birchbox last month was a detox powder - these were little packets of 3 capsules/liquid gels you take daily for hair and nail strength/growth. I was impressed with my results taking these, I would definitely consider trying more of their products (especially if they do taste good!)
August 2016 Empties
I finally have access to my whole stash since I'm back from my semester abroad, yayy ! I feel like my decluttering can be pursued in a more serious manner from now on
The Face Shop Real Nature Peony Face Mask : This was my first time using this sheet mask and I was not disappointed. My skin felt super fresh and not congested after using it. It also was very smooth and hydrated. The smell was pleasant and the mask itself did fit my face even though it was a bit big. There was plenty of serum in the packaging and I left the mask on my face for longer than the recommended time (20 minutes) to get optimal results. My skin was glowing after use. * Will totally repurchase it when it’s be available at my local The Face Shop store.
Nest Dahlia & Vines Eau de Parfum Rollerball (Deluxe sample) : Beautiful fragrance which lasted all day long on my skin but that wasn't too overpowering at the same time. The smell is very unique and floral. It is definitely a smell for all year long. I also enjoy that this product is often offered in mini sizes too, for example at Black Friday, so it's an excellent way to try it out & to get travel sizes for a good price ! Bonus point, I think the packaging is super cute too. * Will repurchase it in the future & probably will ask the full size bottle for Christmas.
Mac Fix+ (Travel Size) : Ideal size for travelling and the packaging doesn’t leak. The product worked wonderfully to set my makeup and it helped it to stay in place the whole day. Pleasant smell as well and the product doesn’t irritate my sensible skin. The only negative thing about the travel size is that it is a bit difficult to get the last drops out of it. * Would buy the travel size again in the future, currently using a full size of it.
The Face Shop Clean Face Soothing Face Mask For Oily Skin : Fabulous sheet mask to remove excess sebum and to help control oil. It helps to balance out skin and the results last for almost a whole week. I like to use these when my skin is out of control or if I want to prevent a breakout. The sheet mask does not slip out of my face as much as other formulas and the scent isn't strong. It contains green tea extracts which also help tired skin. Totally worth buying ! * Already have backups and will keep on repurchasing in the future.
The Face Shop Real Nature Rice Face Mask : I feel like I have this sheet mask in my empties bag almost every month, so it really shows how much I like to use it. It makes my complexion way brighter and glowy after using it and it does help with dark circles. The sheet fits my eyes area and the serum doesn't burn, so it's possible to bring it closer to the eyes and get optimal results in this area. The smell is pleasant as well and the mask is soaked in serum. * Have backups of it and will definitely repurchase in the future.
Lush Mask of Magnaminty Face & Back Mask : Ideal to purify skin and to do a deep cleansing. It feels fresh and has a tingly effect thanks to the mint but it didn't irritate my sensible combination skin. It might be a bit strong for dry sensible skin however. I like how it controls oil and brightens up my complexion as well. The downsize of this mask is that it can be a bit messy to apply and remove. It is also a bit thick so it goes down faster in the packaging than other masks. * Will repurchase it soon when I go back to Lush.
The Face Shop Real Nature Green Tea Face Mask : I don’t know if the formula of this sheet mask changed or if this one was a dud, but I feel like it didn’t absorb sebum as well as usual. However, it was very soothing and made my skin feel more relaxed, as usual. The Face Shop’s sheet masks fit my eyes area very well. * Will repurchase it in the future when The Face Shop has a sheet masks sale.
The Face Shop Real Nature Acai Berry Face Mask : Made my skin super smooth and moisturised, but that’s about it. My skin didn’t look brighter than usual after using it. However, it was very soothing and the smell was really nice. The sheet mask fitted my face well, even though it was a bit big. * Have some backups of it, would repurchase it when I need smoother skin and when there’s a sheet mask sale at my local The Face Shop store.
Bath & Body Works Cherry Blossom Gentle Foaming Hand Soap : I really enjoy using the Bath & Body Works Gentle Foaming Hand Soaps and this one was no exception. It cleaned my hands really well without ever making them dry. Also, these are always on sale and it is easy to use it all up until the bottle is empty, contrary to the deep cleansing ones. I enjoyed the smell of Cherry Blossom because it is very light and clean, but it wasn’t anything very unique. I did not particularly care for it and have many others that I prefer. * Would probably repurchase a bottle it if it was on sale and available during the semi-annual sale this December.
DM Ebelin 70 Wattepads : Excellent cotton pads, especially for the very cheap price tag it has. It did not leave any plush residue on my face and it was quite sturdy. It was also quite soft. Only problem is that it took several of those pads to remove all my makeup off, as they are quite small. * Would repurchase if it was available locally in Canada.
Adidas Control Ultra Protection Cool & Care 48h Anti-Perspirant (Travel Size) : Kept my armpits dry all day long and the spray formula dried instantly. The smell was very fresh and not overpowering, I really enjoyed it. However, the product left a weird residue on my armpits, which was difficult to remove, except in the shower. It didn't stain my clothes however. * Would repurchase if it was available locally in Canada.
Marc Jacobs Fragrances Daisy Dream (Sample) : Nice light and floral smell. It is nothing too unique but I liked to use it in the spring and summer. It does not have the strongest power on my skin so I definitely had to reapply a couple of times throughout the day, which can be a bit of an hassle if you're out for the day. I would say that I prefer the Daisy Eau So Fresh over this one. I enjoyed the fact that it was wearable for both day and night time. * Have a rollerball of it, but would probably not purchase a full size.
Lush Aqua Marina Face and Body Cleanser : As much as I can't get used to the smell of it, this cleanser works wonderfully to make my skin feel refreshed and soft. The product is also very soothing and doesn't irritate my sensible skin. It does make my skin look brighter. It's a bit messy to apply and remove, so I do not use it daily for that sole reason. * Will repurchase it soon.
Clarisonic Replacement Brush Head in Normal : This brush was of very good quality and was easy to clean after use, as every other Clarisonic brushes I tried. However, I feel like it was still too rough for my sensible skin, so this is the only reason I didn’t enjoy using it as much as other ones. It would be great for anyone with non-sensible skin though. * Won’t repurchase it since I switched to the sensible brush head.
Balea Pink Grapefruit Deodorant : Had to use it up with another deodorant to get decent uses out of it because this absolutely did nothing to control odors. It made me feel gross at the time. It did however keep my armpits dry, so it was quite strange for a deodorant product. I liked the smell but it didn’t have any lasting power. The positive thing is that it only cost me 0,55 euros. * Wouldn’t repurchase if it was available locally in Canada.
I always love your reviews. That Mask of Magnanimity is something I've wanted to try for a while. Thanks for the details, because it makes me want to try it even more.

Thank you! You know I really wanted to decluttering my perfume samples, I've had some for years and really made an effort to use them up. A couple of them were only half full so it made it easier... Plus fragrance doesn't last on me, so I usually marinate in it.
