Empties

I love seeing other peoples empties! So I decided to make a board where people could post pictures of their empties, or just tell us about them! I'd also be interested in knowing whether you're repurchasing anything or not.

Re: Empties

A lot of great empties @RGbrown ๐Ÿ‘ I see a few things that I love too.  Love the Hello Fab products

Re: Empties

@2manyperfumes

FAB makes some really nice stuff; I think I've liked most everything I've tried from them (minus the cleanser...it just didn't cleanse my oily skin well at all) โฃ๏ธ

RE: Empties

MAY EMPTIES! dove is a favorite but not this particular one. wella shampoo is my favorite for shampoo and conditioner ever ๐Ÿ’•. i liked the YSL mon paris but might not repurchase. i enjoyed the marc jacobs brow pencil. the rest were so-so.

RE: Empties

Finally posting so I can throw these out! Let me know if you have any questions about specific products. Items I have repurchased and am still using are Good Genes, Tom Ford Black Orchid, Milk Kush Mascara, Gimme Brow, Urban Decay Setting Spray, and IGK Charcoal Dry Shampoo. There is nothing here I disliked! Although I did feel the Tarte Shape Tape Matte foundation was starting to look dry on me.

March/April empties

Most of these are repeats for me. Iโ€™m done using the Purity Made Simple after about a decade of using it. It was reformulated in the fall so instead of trying the new one I just switched to the Kate Somerville Goat Milk, which I donโ€™t regret. Itโ€™s so soothing for dry itchy skin in the morning. The Differin was new to me, but I started using prescription Tretinoin so I wonโ€™t repurchase. FYI, Differin is the exact same thing as Proactive Adapalene Gel, ingredient for ingredient. The Lush American Cream shower gel was a bit drying, and I wasnโ€™t into the scent (too masculine). The Estรฉe Lauder ampules were terrible. The oil just didnโ€™t absorb, and I swear it left my skin drier because of it. Josie Maran will always be my favorite. I have/would repurchase everything else.

Re: Empties

Great job @suzyo . And you have so many of my favorites in this pile.

Re: Empties

Iโ€™m always so behind with posting my empties.  Last time I posted was around March I believe (with pictures taken in middle of February). This time I took the pictures in middle of April. So pretty much these are my empties for 2 months.

In 2 months I used up:

21 foil samples

43 deluxe samples

11 Full Size products

12  masks, eye patches

Total of 87 products!! Iโ€™m kinda proud of myself๐Ÿ˜Š206BDDF1-C7F7-4BD8-8CF0-70C8969509E1.jpeg

Absolutely in love with:

Lavanilla deodorant - Iโ€™m buying them from TJMaxx for around $8

Rituals Shower Foam - the most luxurious feeling shower product I have ever tried.

FRESH vitamin Nectar Vitamin C powder - I got this as a gratis last year from BIC team and from then I already bought one myself - this makes my face bright, fresh looking and even. I love using this in the morning. I use it once a week but would definitely use it more often if it wasnโ€™t as expensive.15A9E108-E9C8-4A54-9410-56705DFD8705.jpeg

Tatcha Dewy Cream - Iโ€™m on the fence with this, I have a deluxe sample of it now so I decide after trying it if itโ€™s a like/love/nope.

Most of the โ€œlikeโ€ products are fine and I would used them again if I got a sample or if it was in subscription box but I wouldnโ€™t repurchase them personally. 3296AE03-E983-4475-A562-04A8A84CA9A2.jpeg

Itโ€™s official I hate face oils. I thought this one from La Prairie will change my mind but NOPE. (Only one exception so far is DE Marula Oil)

Becca and Cover FX foundation sample card are too small to cover entire face thatโ€™s what I donโ€™t like about them. Canโ€™t say if I like/dislike the actual product.

Canโ€™t stand the consistency of the Smashbox primer.E395F347-5E78-440D-8848-833ACC38C6D1.jpeg

Flower Beauty powder is too dark for me.

Hair products and self tanner are too old.

The blue thing is natural deodorant from my home country that my friend recommended. I really like the smell and consistency but unfortunately it irritated my skin.

Stila was half empty and dried out.

Wooow this was long. Thanks for reading๐Ÿ˜Š

Re: Empties

Wow that is impressive @katkapivarci I wouldnโ€™t be able to keep track of all that โค๏ธ

Re: Empties

@2manyperfumes Itโ€™s not even two months since I took these pictures and my empties bag is full again!! I took pictures today and post again soon but Iโ€™m kind of shocked by the speed Iโ€™m using up products.

Re: Empties

Iโ€™m so impressed! @katkapivarci

Re: Empties

@PrettyPaint thank you so much. Iโ€™m really trying to shop my stash and use up my samples. Itโ€™s very satisfying to see it all together.

Re: Empties

That's an amazing amount of products used! @katkapivarci

Re: Empties

@l8totheparty Thank you. Itโ€™s so satisfying to see how many products I used. It makes me less guilty when I buy something ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Re: Empties

I admire all of your cut containers! You've made so much progress @katkapivarci. Other than Lavanilla, have you tried other natural deodorants and how would you compare them?

Re: Empties

O@ShortErica I tried Schmidtโ€™s which I hated because of the texture. Iโ€™m not sure if all of them are like the one I used (donโ€™t remember which scent was it) but it was crumbly.

Another ones I tried I bought in my home country Slovakia - Ponio(the blue one from my declutters) and Yves Rocher - both irritated my skin.

I think I tried more but these are the ones I remember.

Lavanilla is my favorite but not enough to pay full price for it. Thatโ€™s why I always try to stock up on it when I find it in TJMaxx.

Re: Empties

Thanks @katkapivarci. I think Lavanilla is likely the next one I will try. I'll be on the lookout at Marshall's/TJMaxx.

Re: Empties

Wow! What an awesome empties collection! I always forget to keep and end up tossing ! I will recommend testing out the tatcha dewy cream for a bit longer if you can grab a few more samples before making the big purchase...I have been using for almost two weeks and my skin is so much plumper and firmer! Thanks for sharing โค๏ธ

Re: Empties

@m3rc3d3s Iโ€™m definitely planning to try it more. I have a deluxe sample so that could last me at least a week to properly test it. I actually love Tatcha Water Cream. Itโ€™s interesting because itโ€™s targeted for more oily skin and Iโ€™m more on a drier side but still I looooove that cream.

RE: Empties

Two days of empties. Plucking through the sample drawer quite a few where already particularly used. And Iโ€™m not sure why I used that Love Green Mask, I already knew I didnโ€™t like the overwhelming lavender scent. And I have two more, better put them in the give away pile. Besides that, everything is something Iโ€™d use again.

Re: Empties

Just a small batch this time around ๐Ÿ˜€

Spoiler
Kiehl's Calendula Herbal Toner: a nice, non-acid, alcohol-free toner that is unfortunately currently a suspect in my watery eyes problem. Every time I think I have it ruled out, my eyes water like crazy again after using it. I have another mini for further testing.

Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cream: what I imagine FAB's Barriair cream would be like if it were in a tube instead of a tub. It's a touch thicker but overall, very very similar in texture and performance. I like it; not too heavy for my oily/dehydrated skin, but has great moisture. No discernible scent. Would use again.

Ulta Lip Oil (coconut): love this stuff almost as much as I love the Clarins, and use it frequently as a sub since it's soooo much cheaper. Works wonders as an overnight lip treatment to seal in my Skyn balm, leaving my lips soft and moisturized each morning.

Matrix Biolage Hydrasource Shampoo & Conditioner: I felt like the shampoo was a touch drying (it also smells exactly like their clarifying shampoo, so perhaps that was a bit of a mind game on my part), but the conditioner was really really nice and definitely left my hair soft. I'd probably skip the shampoo again, but would love to try the conditioner with other products.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Leave In: I liked it, but didn't find it any better or worse than most other leave in sprays I've tried. Not too heavy for my fine hair, and provides moderate help for detangler. Would use again.

Coola Sunless Tan Firming Lotion: I've started dipping my toes in the self-tanner world ๐Ÿ˜ฏ My arms and chest tan just fine on their own (sigh, I know, sunscreen...), but my legs are always ghostly white no matter what, so that's where I've started for now. I'm not great at it yet, and the fact that this lotion is clear doesn't help...I should have started with one that has a color guide. I blame the user, not the product lol. The color is nice...I just have to get my knees/ankles/feet technique down before I consider moving up to my chest/neck area to try and hide some of the tan lines I'll inevitably wind up with there.

RE: Empties

Recycle box of empties filled again. This time I grouped the photos by my ratings. Photo 1, usual winner suspects. These are repeat purchases. I use the Clinique as a 5 min mask. Photo 2, winners. Definitely would purchase, all of them left my skin happy and soft. Photo 3 Good. They do what they are supposed to but arenโ€™t wow. Many are repurchases because of their awesome price point. Photo 4, meh. Not horrid, but I wonโ€™t repurchase. Photo 5, losers. Pig clear nose mask was a waste of time and didnโ€™t perform well compared to others. The Jack Black sample face wash performed at a winner level, but smelled like rotting marine life thatโ€™s been on the beach for a couple days (you who live in a beach town know what I mean, those random seal and otter and fish corpses that bake in the sun for days). Korres Rose serum/oil smelled like burnt cooking oil, (you know when it starts smelling fishy). It might perform well but I ran and exfoliated it away as fast as possible. And the TM Chok Chok watery moisturizer is not watery. Too thick for my taste. Not a disaster product, smelled lovely and I love other products in the line. It was just too thick and slime for me.
