About-face Cherry Pick Lip Color Butter, shade Dragonfruit Fusion - first and only product I’ve tried from this brand. It’s a click-up gloss stick that’s very emollient. So emollient, I think I’ll need a lip liner and/or primer perimeter to keep it from bleeding. If you’ve ever worn a Kaja Heart Melter, this is much more emollient than that. I wore it for just a couple minutes for my lip swatch photo and saw no feathering, but I suspect it’ll misbehave during a full day wear test. It did feel very comfy on my lips though. Application was kinda streaky but rubbing my lips together helped even things out. I’m impressed by the pigmentation and opacity. It has a berry/melon scent that dissipates after application. 

Natasha Denona Mini Triochrome - had to scoop this up as soon as it hit Ulta. Someday I might swatch-compare it to Natasha’s Purple & Blue palette or one of the blue-themed 5-pans, but not today. I’m still surprised this mini’s so blue themed, since the big Triochrome palette’s very much not blue. Not a complaint, just a very pleasant surprise. The 3 mattes here are Natasha’s creamy matte formula, and one of them—Voltaic, the bright azure shade on the far left—is not messin’ around in the bold pigmentation department. 💙 

Pat McGrath Labs Bijoux Brilliance Eye Shadow Palette, Lunar Nightshade - the only one of the 3 holiday quints that interested me. Finally, a fresh breath of not-pink air from Pat! None of these 5 shades are that liquid-feel metallic found in some of her previous quints, unfortunately. But they’re still lovely, and I’m all about the 2 shimmery blue shades. The middle shade’s more of a topper type formula—not an Astral but within that family. This 5-pan gives me MTHRSHP Dark Star vibes… I should swatch-compare both palettes sometime.

Pat McGrath Labs Dark Star Colour Blitz Mascara Trio - the holiday collection items I was most interested in. I bought last year’s Colour Blitz trio so hey, why not follow suit this year? I’m thrilled with Electric Jade (green mascara): showed up on my lashes in a single coat and intensified with a second coat. I needed 3-4 coats of Renegade Red to build up the red color, partly because I had some trouble getting enough product on the wand. But the end result’s worth it. With the red one, I’ll use a white lash primer next time for (hopefully) quicker color payoff. I applied these 3 hours ago and neither eye is irritated—and my fairly sensitive eyes hate 90% of mascaras on the market. Note that the red shade contains carmine (CI 75470).

Benefit Cosmetics Mini Fan Fest Fanning & Volumizing Mascara Hyper Black - several people have recommended this to me. I seem to be in the minority of folks who find Benefit’s mascaras hit or miss—or rather, “not bad but not life altering either.” But hey, I’m willing to test another one. 🙂 Benefit mascaras generally don’t hurt my eyes, so I expect no pain from this one. 

Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix - Multi-Use Eye, Cheek & Lip Waterproof Liquid Pigment 24K - because why not add a yellow gold to my Colorfix collection? 💛 

Paula's Choice 10% Azelaic Acid Booster for Redness Relief 1 oz/ 30 mL - a restock of my favorite OTC azelaic acid product. I should always buy this 2-3 tubes at a time… eh, I’m waiting til Sephora’s holiday sale to buy additional restock tubes.

Those prismatic mascara tubes are fun (and sometimes frustrating 😅) to photograph and a good way to play with lighting angles. Now that I have 6 of them (this and last year’s trio), I can use them to confuse the heck outta my camera in various photos. 😂

Those colour mascaras from Pat are so fun and fabulous, I love the extra pop of colour and drama that they bring to the table. 

the colours in the Natasha palette are beautiful, that will be really fun to create looks with!

When I'm out of town, I make an effort, when I can, to visit the local Sephora and pick up something. Some times I'm able to get to at least one Sephora; other times, it just doesn't happen at all. While in New York though, I was able to get to 4 Sephora stores! 😍 Here are, as @danielledanielle put it so creatively in her fabulous poem, "the hauls here and there" -

Sephora World Trade Center: I arrived in NY a few days earlier and made my way to the 9/11 Memorial and the World Trade Center. It took me forever to find the Sephora inside the WTC.

Sephora 5th Avenue: Once the weather cleared up on what would have been Sephoria NYC Day 1, several of us decided to make our way to Sephora 5th Avenue. Imagine a group of beauty loving ladies all together in a Sephora - so much fun!

@itsfi It is so neat that you were able to visit 4 different Sephora stores in NYC. I did not realize there were so many! Did you notice any big differences in between the stores? Any new to you purchases?
