@Ispend2much6 - I'm still undecided. It has virtually no scent. If you really sniff deeply, you can get a whiff of mint. There's no tingling or burning sensation from the mint on the lips. It has a metal tip, which is cool on the lips. The coolness of the tip overwhelms my lips, so I can't tell how much product I've squeezed from tube. The product itself doesn't have as much slip as other balms like Laneige and Summer Fridays. On the other hand my very dry and chapped lips seem to like it.
Great haul @Titian06 . I wasn't thrilled with the body butter when I tried it. It had a funky smell to me. I love the YSL palette, their eye shadows are so smooth to apply. Enjoy!
@Samtian - I L-U-V the Chanel! I very rarely buy a full size, so that's a give away right there. I also went through two sample vials in quick succession. It usually takes me for.ev.er to go through a sample. It has a fresh, light, slightly warm citrus scent. It lasts a good two to three hours.
@missjeanie - The SC body butter does have a bit of a plasticy smell to it, especially the first few times you open the jar. I'm scent sensitive, but it doesn't give me a migraine. It's rather unpleasant, but not too strong, and it doesn't linger. The product isn't labeled fragrance-free, but it's pretty close. For the price plus 30% off, I can put up with the smell. 😄 (This is my third jar!)
Alright, let’s post some “nothing to swatch here” (except nail polish) hauls. Inglot and Harlem Candle Co. are from early to mid October. 🤦♀️
Mooncat Lunar Sale and Inglot:
Eyeshadows in the Inglot palette are for demo purposes only (they’re some of my Viseart singles). The swatch below each nail is unmagnetized. Shades L to R: The Silent Scream, Mutiny, 404 Soul Not Found, and Claire de Lune.
Mooncat 404 Soul Not Found, Mutiny, The Silent Scream, and Claire de Lune - I think it’s been at least a year [ EDIT: nope, 11 months 😅 ] since I bought nail polish, so I’m proud of myself for keeping this order small. Eh, it helped that I already have a lotta Mooncat (and Live Love Polish, their former brand name). This year they released some magnetics in a new formula that’s more opaque than their old magnetics, so I grabbed a couple of those. Claire de Lune’s kinda thick; might add some thinner before using that one on my nails.
On the back of each swatch stick, I used a not-quite-“velvet” magnet technique that still photos won’t do justice, but here they are anyway:
Inglot:
AMC Eyeliner Gel shades 64, 65, and 84 - two of these are restocks. Each time I try any brand’s yellow pencil liner (gel or otherwise), I return to #84 as a more reliable performer: good pigmentation on my skin tone that lasts for hours. No swatches because I don’t like to open new Inglot gel pots until I’m ready to use ‘em.
Makeup Brush 31T - most of my angled brushes are goat hair. It’s good to add another synthetic one that’ll better handle frequent washing.
Freedom System Flexi Eco Palette (made of bamboo) and Freedom System Flexi Palette (made of plastic) - I forgot Inglot makes magnetic palettes til a month or two ago. I bought these two as an experiment. Their magnets are a bit stronger than the one in Viseart’s old empty Grand Pro palette, but not nearly as strong as an empty MUFE palette.
A look inside both Inglot empty magnetic palettes.
Rephr:
No, I haven’t washed any of these brushes yet so they’re not fluffed out to their full potential.I’m glad Rephr plans to make Shodō versions of some existing brushes. My wallet’s not happy though. 😄
Yosegi and Shodō 05 & 06 brushes - originally I was going to buy just the Yosegi. But darn it, Rephr offered a bundle with the other 2 new brushes at a good discount (+ an extra 10% off the Yosegi). 🙃 I love all my other Shodōs, so I’m thrilled to add a face brush and this very handy (for me) small eye brush.
Harlem Candle Company:
Not pictured: GWP - mini Duke Eau de Parfum.
I haven’t burned any of these yet (except the mini St. Nicholas candle I had last year; this one’s a restock), so I’ll post the brand’s fragrance notes for each candle:
Thanks @Sunnysmom! Rephr did a fantastic job with this year’s holiday brush. (I still love last year’s too.)
Harlem Brands’ candles are generally wonderful. My favorites are Speakeasy, Seneca, and the ltd edition one they made for The Wiz musical. I’ll light this new Brownstone Spice sometime this weekend and see if it also becomes a fave.
