The holiday countdown has begun!! 🎁 Please share your advent calendar unboxings. 😍
Whether you open all the doors to your calendar at once, or whether you open a box one day at time and follow the traditional schedule (e.g., 24 day unboxing beginning on 12/1 and 12-day calendar unboxing beginning 12/25).
For those of us who just can't wait to see what goodies are in our advent calendars and are opening all the doors/boxes at once before the end of the season, please consider hiding your unboxing post behind a spoiler tab so those who want to be surprised day by day can still do so.

Woah another good one @itsfi . I love it 👍🥰
That is a great fragrance for anyone @itsfi
Diptyque Day 6 (nope, Day 7)
A Diptyque scent I have not tried before. 😍
Diptyque Ambre Candle (mini) has a lovely, inviting mix of warm, cozy and sweet tones to it. It’s rich without being heavy, woody without being too earthy, with a hint of something sweet, almost caramel and vanilla like to my nose, without being sugary or gourmand. That dynamic along with other scents that I pick up on the cold and hot throws add to the intrigue of this candle, with notes resembling incense, spice, and honey breaking through every now and again. The layers of incense that float in and out seem familiar to me, with the notes feeling similar to one of the main notes in Diptyques Feu de Bois, one of my favorite candles from the house.
Interestingly, I pick up the layering of the various notes more when smelling the candle after it has had some time to rest after being lit and put out. I’m curious how this one will burn over time. It’s one I could see myself purchasing in a full size.
Oooh, thank you @ather! I love so many scents so it'll be great to have a well scented, cozy home. I'll have to start experimenting with pairing up these candles, either with other Diptyque candles or with ones from other brands.
@Samtian, it's different than most of the Diptqyue scents I've smelled. Not what I expected from an amber type fragrance. I'm wondering how it would pair with Feu de Bois.
I love this description I feel like I know exactly how it smells through the screen. What a great day 6 treasure this is such a unique box and everyday is just as good as the next so exciting 🙂 @itsfi
Awww, that is such a wonderful thing to say @peculiarzmakeup; thank you. Describing scents is ever the work in progress for me but it's fun to try these fragrances and candles and to see what notes I pick up (or don't pick up, lol).
I know you are a fan of coffee! An old trick I learned is sniffing coffee beans it clears the senses that always helps when testing perfumes too! Haha i love that @itsfi
@peculiarzmakeup, I love when stores have the coffee beans, both how it clears the senses and also just for the smell of the coffee beans. 😉 Good memory, I really like coffee and even more so, the smell of coffee beans being ground, brewed, etc. Ahhhh...
P.S. Thank you for the reminder. I have a coffee advent calendar that I'm behind on.
This calendar is such a treat and your input is so detailed. I love it @itsfi
It's been so much fun, more so than even I expected @CorgiMommy!
Can I come over @itsfi 😘 😂 I bet your house smells lovely 🥰 my goodness . I might have to start saving for next year Diptyque Advent Calendar 😍🥰
Come on over @blackkitty2014! It'll be a scent party. I'll start prepping the appetizer and chilling the champagne - if we're gonna have a get together, let's do it in style! 😊
Double post today - I missed yesterday as I was sick and felt like roadkill 😭 still sick today, but feeling slightly more human...
Day 5 (late posting):
- from William Morris, a mini patchouli & red berry hand cream
- from Olive & June, a nail polish remover pot
- from Cult Pens, a Stabilo fine tip marker with navy ink
I like the marker a lot, it has a nice fine tip that could be good for sketching or writing. And I am curious to see how this nail polish remover compares to the ella + mila one I've been using.
Day 6:
- from William Morris, a bath bomb (not sure of the scent, will have to look it up)
- from Olive & June, a little buffing block
- from Cult Pens, a Faber-Castell eraser (thought it was a crayon at first lol)
I am curious to try the bath bomb and the eraser - I've never seen an eraser like this before!
@caitbird hope you are feeling better today. Your advent calendars are so much fun. I wouldn't have known that is an eraser either.
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear you were not feeling well @caitbird! I caught a bug too; stayed in all day the other day, mostly in bed. The rest was good - hope you are feeling better and in recovery mode.
I'm so interested to hear your take on the nail polish removers. If I'm remembering right, I think this Olive & June one is @ather's favorite.
The eraser looks very cool - I wouldn't have thought it was an eraser if you hadn't said anything. I saw it and thought "what a fun crayon!!" 😁
Both days hold such fun reveals! I love how unique each item is these are so fun to watch! @caitbird Sorry to hear you were feeling sick I hope you feel better soon, drink some tea (in your fabulous mugs!) 🙂
