@marjanaaaa Have you tried layering scents or layering matching body lotion with it?
Body chemistry does play a role.
It's quite possible that you have become desensitized to the fragrance so you smell it weakly or not at all, even though it is still the same to others. before giving up hope, try asking a few close friends to smell you. And keep in mind that fragrance is not to be a cloud around you, but rather smelled by someone who gets within a foot of you. If others can smell your fragrance more than 12" away, you are wearing too much.
Sadly I asked my friends by changing my perfumes on few occasions and if they could smell my perfume. then couldnโt. I realized maybe I absorb it. Hence nothing stays on me. ๐
So these are some of my personal favorites but Iโm a gourmand loved when it comes to scents.
Hanae Mori Butterfly (Wore it for my wedding and it lasted allllll day and night, still smelled it in the morning)
Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum with Vanilla & Jasmine 3.4 oz/ 100 mL
VIKTOR&ROLF - Flowerbomb Midnight
Viktor&Rolf Bonbon Eau de Parfum with Caramel & Peach 1.7 oz/ 50 mL
Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb Cologne with Tobacco & Cinnamon 1.7 oz/ 50 mL (I got it for my husband for Christmas but I do spray it on myself sometimes)
KILIAN - Princess Eau de
MIU MIU - Miu Miu Twist Eau de Parfum
Yves Saint Laurent Mon Paris Eau de Parfum Patchouli & Florals 1.6 oz/ 47 mL
Kilian Beyond Love was the longest lasting perfume on my skin, more than 24 hours I still can smell the wonderful tuberose and coconut on me. Sadly they discontined it!
@marjanaaaa I noticed that all the houses you listed are designer houses. You might want to try check out what niche houses have to offer.
Designer houses are owned by large publicly traded companies that push the houses they own to churn out as much safe smelling fragrances as they can to make the shareholders happy.
Privately owned niche houses are not in a rush and have free reign to be as creative and avant-garde as they wish. These fragrances are generally stronger smelling and longer lasting.
For example, Jubilation 25 for women by Amouage radiates 6 ft (2m) and will last well over 12 hours on your skin.
Any niche brand you know of from
sephora?
The ones you mentioned isnโt available near me and ordering them from somewhere else will hit me with huge duties
Sephora is owned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moรซt Hennessy), so Sephora carries mostly brands owned by LVMH (such as Dior, Fendi, Guerlain, and Givenchy to name a few), and Estee Lauder (by Killian and Tom Ford to name a few). Off the top of my head, the only "niche" brands that Sephora carries are Commodity and Phlur - both of which have longevity issues and, in my humble opinion, do not smell very good.
If you are in the US, check out Luckyscent.
If you are in Canada, check out The Perfume Shoppe and Indiescents. @pocketvenus would most likely know other shops or websites to check out.
Best wishes!
If in Canada, there's
If in the US, I've gotten 0.7ml vials from Twisted Lily, Luckyscent and Tigerlily. The first two ship samples to Canada and I have never incurred duties.
Thanks a lot, that was very helpful.
@marjanaaaa @Vmaster I am so loving Jubilation 25 right now. It is gorgeous!! You really need some maturity to carry it though, or the scent will wear you!
I've found Tom Ford's perfumes tend to be the longest lasting on me personally.
Make sure you moisturize before putting on perfume & apply your perfume before you put your clothes on. I put some on my chest, wrists & back of my neck. I would also buy a rollerball of whatever fragrance you like so you can easily reapply during the day. Also don't be scared to mix different fragrances like put one on in the morning & bring a rollerball of something else a lot of perfumes work nicely together if they have an overlap in some notes. It's also normal for perfumes to fade during the day so I would say the best piece of advice is to reapply during the day.
Tried all of them except reapplying. I perfomed some tests myself ๐ After I applied perfume and went somewhere and asks ny friends whether they can smell my perfume when I standing with them but nada.
I walk on streets and talk to people I can smell their perfume when they are sitting from across me.
You may want to look into perfume oils (though those aren't really mainstream). Alternatively, are you using EDT (eau de toilette) or EDP (eau de parfum)? EDP is more concentrated and will last longer.
I moisturize after my shower, so no that doesnโt work for me either. Tried so many things. I think Iโll invest in samples of various brands before I spend any more money on fragrances
@marjanaaaa A lot of it depends on body chemistry, so what lasts long on you may not last long on others. Some fragrances are a lot lighter as well, and you need to put more on. I have found citrus and musks are the longest lasting on me, and florals and gourmands tend to fade a little quicker. Atelier Cologne is long lasting, you should check out their line. The longest lasting scent on me though is Dior Jโadore, itโs also my most favorite!
