What are your favorite home scents? (candles & fragrances oils)

I'm pretty obsessed with making my home smell great. I love essential oils and scented candles. I use to use a lot of candles but  I ended spending way to much money on them!  Im enjoying my oil diffuser as the scents seem to be stronger and therefore I end up spending less on the fragrances, despite the upfront cost of the diffuser was sort of expensive!

Would love to know everyones favorite candles?  and home fragrance oils? I'm always on the look out for new scents to try.

I love anything citrus! My current favorite is the NEST Grapefruit Candle. It smells SO good.

I second this. Nest has some amazing scents, but I think this is my favorite. They also make diffusers if you prefer that.

As much as I hate going in this store, I've lately been burning candles from B&BW.

This past autumn I was burning the Warm Apple Pie by B&BW.  It literally smelled like I was baking a warm apple pie.  It was so delicious and somewhat deceiving to my boyfriend.  lol

During Christmas, I enjoyed the Pomelo & Pine from B&BW.  It helped enhance the pine scent of our tree.

I used to enjoy Diva by Tyler candles.  It's a spicy and sensual scent.  Almost smells reminiscent of Angel by Mugler, but less heavy.  Still, I would reserve Diva for the nighttime, and probably would never burn it in the spring or summer.

Diva by Tyler sounds like something I would enjoy, but your probably right its more of a nightime scent, will have to give it a try!

@Anonymous I have a weak sense of smell when it comes to candles, but I do enjoy Fresh Cut Roses from Yankee Candle.  I've also gifted the NEST candles.  If you are looking for some deals, Nordstrom sometimes has candles on clearance that look high end.  🙂

I love candles!!! Nothing better than just relaxing with an amazing smelling candle. TBH I haven't really made the jump to expensive candles yet - I mostly stick to the bath and body works ones when they are on sale (though I'd like to get a few pricier ones at some point just to see). 

I definitely have my seasonal favorites - I think fall is my favorite candle time! Pumpkin Apple and Sweater Weather are my fall faves from bath and body works! I just feel so Halloween-y/fall-y when i smell those in my apartment

I have a tendency to stock up on candles when I see them on sale. Like, I bought a few Nest candles (I love the grapefruit one) at Nordstrom's anniversary sale, and I've only ever bought Diptyque candles when they're marked down on Hautelook. And then there's Bath & Body Works, of course; I'm currently burning one from there in a Rose Water & Ivy scent.

If you like grapefruit Target actually had an amazing grapefruit candle in their stores, it was cheap too but the name of it escapes me. Stocking up during the sales is the best! I grabbed a  Feu de Bois by Diptyque for like $60 when its normally $90 for the 10oz size at Nordstrom, such a good winter warmer. Lately ive been using Cedar Mood by Air Aroma in my oil diffuser its perfect for winter, it's along the lines of Feu de Bois, but less smokey, more warm and woody.

I have the saje diffusers. Years ago I used to use those Bath and Body works scent plug in with the bulb you screw in underneath...had no idea they ruined your walls until it was too late.

I also use a diffuser and bought a number of essential oils so I could make my own blends. The latest I tried was Geranium + Vetiver + something else, I think it was either Bergamot.... or Clary Sage??? it worked out better than I thought! Sometimes though, they don't work together how you think they will... it's not like mixing paints, the results can be very unpredictable.

I have a friend who is obsessed with Saje's diffuser blends. I'm too much of a control freak when it comes to scents to try them lol.

Ive never made my own blends, but you might just have inspired me! Geranium + Vetiver + Clary Sage sounds like something I would enjoy 🙂  . Might have to consider some sort of aromatherapy course to learn how to blend I guess. Thanks for sharing.

@Anonymous  Mixing your own blends is so fun 🙂 I should also mention that the amount or ratio of oils changes things so if you think a blend is not working, sometimes what you need to do is change the ratio of things rather than abandon the recipe entirely
