difference between regular eyeshadow application and cut crease ? which is better or is it simply a different look

I'm new in the make up world and would like to know the difference between a regular eyeshadow application and a cut crease. How can you tell the difference when looking at eyeshadow pictures? is it simply preference or is it "better " does a cut crease work every time? I know it's mostly for hooded eyes

Regular eyeshadow is usually a well blended gradient of colors; a cut crease eyeshadow look is when there is a very sharp dividing line between the lower lid and the above lid, usually formed at the crease. There really aren't any rules to makeup, so whatever floats your boat 😉. If a cut crease is what you wanna go for, go for it! But I do find with some types of eye shapes, it may be simpler to form the line above the crease, instead of directly on the crease to put more emphasis on the "cut." There are also some eyelids that naturally produce a "cut crease" effect. So it depends on eye shape and technique. I hope I explained it well enough. I have some pictures that may help 😊.
