Substitute for Victoria Beckham eyeliner

As you guys know, Sephora doesn’t carry the Victoria Beckham line. There’s a shade of eyeliner I want to try, and I’m hoping to get recommendations for similar products. It’s the shade Surfside, described as a rich matte teal 

and it looks like this when applied :

I’m thinking maybe the SEPHORA COLLECTION Waterproof 12HR Retractable Eyeliner Pencil but Cobalt Blue seems too bright and Navy too dark

@Itomixx19 I do have VBB Surfside though my comparisons are more to the deep green side with a touch of the teal that Surfside has. It’s gloomy today so these look quite dark but they have some similarities and look lighter in any sunshine! Second pic looks a tiny bit brighter maybe. I do have a good amount of dark blues and greens so if any of those interest you I’m happy to swatch! It does appear that the BB Petrol duo is still available. Seems like the Chanel is gone. Kosas is on Sephora too. You picked a lovely shade, it’s unique isn’t it! Beautiful ideas below from folks! Thanks for the tag @itsfi . 💞

@Itomixx19  I am pretty sure I have Surfside, and a couple of other teal liners in my collection - I'll try to remember to pull them out and swatch them tomorrow (if that would be helpful)!

@Itomixx19 , I was like... Immediately, Hung Vanngo's One Eye at a Time, it's the prettiest teal and I like how it wears. 

BUT, I was also like, let's swatch this out

HV PP - Hung Vanngo Personal Preference (this is very blue, but I think with how you lined your eyes, this would also look fab)

HV OE - Hung Vanngo One Eye at a Time 

VBB Surfside at position 3

ND Willow is NATASHA DENONA Macro Tech Eye Crayon High Pigment Pencil Eyeliner Willow , which is a deep green, but it's got a teal feel to it

This is in indoor LED light.  Hope this helps!

@danielledanielle  After seeing how similar One Eye and Surfside are in your photo, I swatched some of my teal/peacock blue liners to see if I have anything else that’s close. Thanks for the comparisons!

@Itomixx19  I don’t have Surfside (I have a couple other VBB liners but not this one), but I do have Hung Vanngo’s One Eye and it’s just a bit more green/yellow than Surfside. So I used One Eye as my color reference. Then I realized some of the liners I swatched for you aren’t readily available. 😑 (I can’t believe Urban Decay discontinued Mainline!) Sorry about that.

The liners, top to bottom: 

• SEPHORA COLLECTION Waterproof 12HR Retractable Eyeliner Pencil 27-Matte Forest Green - definitely greener than the others.
• Hung Vanngo Longwear Waterproof Precision Gel Eyeliner shade One Eye At A Time - the best Surfside match that Sephora carries, based on danielledanielle’s photo.
• MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Resist Color Pencil Eyeliner 07 Lagoon - lighter than Surfside and metallic instead of matte. It’s very pretty though.
• Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil shade Mainline - possibly the best Surfside match that Sephora doesn’t carry, but it looks like UD discontinued this shade.
• LH Cosmetics Crayon shade Guilty Mood - a deeper teal blue than you’re after, and Sephora doesn’t carry Linda Hallberg’s brand—and, she’s temporarily stopped shipping to the US due to our tariff craziness. (Assuming you’re in the US.)

Anything else I have is either too far off in color, not matte, not a pencil, or discontinued. But so far, Hung Vanngo’s liner looks like your best bet.

@danielledanielle @WinglessOne Thank you so much for all your suggestions! I would have loved the UD Mainline, it’s such a good color I don’t know why they would discontinue it.
I believe the HV One Eye at a Time is the best other option, but the MUFE Lagoon is definitely a pretty shade and I might just get both 🙂‍↕️

@Itomixx19 @danielledanielle  Sorry for the UD Mainline heartache; I didn’t realize it was discontinued til I tried to tag it and visited UD direct to see if the shade still exists. 🤦‍♀️Guess I’ll be nursing my old pencil now, since I can’t repurchase it. (Story of my life, since most of my faves get discontinued or reformulated.) Or maybe I’ll end up replacing it with Surfside at some point.

I hope you love the Hung Vanngo liner, @Itomixx19 —and the MUFE liner, if you do pick it up. (You too, @caitbird!) Both are good performers: they apply smoothly and last a long time on my hooded eyes. I’ve used One Eye just a couple times so far, but haven’t been disappointed by it.

And now I’m curious about eyeshadows I have that are close to Surfside… 3 Natasha Denona palettes come to mind, though one’s no longer available. Probably a Viseart matte or 2. Or hey, maybe something in Hung Vanngo’s Brilliant Blue palette. I might have to do some investigative swatching later… gee, thanks for the side quest, @danielledanielle ! 😅

OP/ @Itomixx19 also mentioned shadows that could be a possible sub in her reply to @itsfi   I'm still noodling what palettes are available, like Yucca comes to mind, but that's Willow in powder form.  (ALSO...is Yucca still available, in can tag out probably, but sometimes things go poof...). Any thoughts for shadows???

VBB Surfside is a gorgeous shade @Itomixx19! 😍 I don't have that particular color but I'm tagging a few folks here who may and they may be able to give you some recommendations over the next few days. Question for you, are you looking specifically for a gel/pencil eyeliner or would you be open to an eyeshadow shade similar in color that you could use as liner?

I’m open to any suggestions! I would prefer a pencil/gel eyeliner because I feel my application would be easier and more precise, but I’m open to eyeshadows as well. I’m trying to get into less neutral eye looks so I could get into updating my stock! Thank you so much.
