Pat McGrath palettes help please

I'm planning on purchasing a palette but so indecisive. I was given a 100 dollar gift card and this is my indulgence please help a girl out thank you.

Re: Pat McGrath palettes help please

Hello, @poppynyxa I definitely agree with what @WinglessOne said.  The Pat Mcgrath are great quality and investment, so the palette you choose must be one whose color story speaks to you!  Hope you enjoy the one you purchase!

Pat McGrath palettes help please

Bronze Seduction is the most popular mothership pallette. Divine Rose II is quickly becoming just as popular. Those are both pretty approachable pallettes if you haven't tried her formula yet. The multichrome in the Divine Rose II is pretty cool. Bronze Seduction has that enticing red.

Re: Pat McGrath palettes help please

@poppynyxa  What @WinglessOne is perfect and true. Also not sure what type of colors you like, or usually wear either. I just wanted to say that coming from my experience it is better to apply some of the colors with your finger to make them more vibrant, compared to a eyeshadow brush.

Re: Pat McGrath palettes help please

@poppynyxa  Do you prefer a certain color story? Warm tones, cool tones, jewel tones...? Do you want more of an "everyday" type palette you can get lots of "neutral" looks from? Or are you more adventurous on a daily basis?

If you want a very cohesive color story that can do both neutral and bolder looks: for warm tones, go with PAT McGRATH LABS Mothership V Eyeshadow Palette - Bronze Seduction  . For cool tones, choose PAT McGRATH LABS Mothership I Eyeshadow Palette - Subliminal . Or try PAT McGRATH LABS Mothership VII Eyeshadow Palette - Divine Rose Collection 10 x 0.047 oz./ 1.32 g  , which is largely a curation of soft pinks from various existing palettes. An inexpensive warm toned option is PAT McGRATH LABS Mini Eye Ecstasy: Eyeshadow Palette Sublime  : this mini's shadows aren't the same quality you'd find in a 10-pan Mothership palette, but they're still dang good shadows. There's also PAT McGRATH LABS Blitz Astral Quad Eyeshadow Palette Iconic Illumination and PAT McGRATH LABS Blitz Astral Quad Eyeshadow Palette Ritualistic Rose  , 2 quads that do contain the same quality shadow formulas you'll find in the Motherships.

For a warm-toned palette with a bit more variety to play, look at PAT McGRATH LABS Mothership II Eyeshadow Palette – Sublime or PAT McGRATH LABS Mothership VIII Artistry Eyeshadow Palette - Divine Rose II Collection . VIII is another pink palette, but this one contains new shades (it's not a curated palette like VII), including a fantastic multi-chrome shade that shifts from gold to green to pink to purple, depending on the lighting.

For even more variety in a palette, try PAT McGRATH LABS Mothership VI Eyeshadow Palette - Midnight Sun  . I especially love this palette paired with the PAT McGRATH LABS Blitz Astral Quad Eyeshadow Palette Nocturnal Nirvana , because then you get a full rainbow to play with:

Spoiler
Midnight Sun and Nocturnal Nirvana sure seem like they belong together after all.Midnight Sun and Nocturnal Nirvana sure seem like they belong together after all.

If you love jewel tone metallics, you want Mothership IV Decadence. There are no mattes in that palette. It's currently not available at Sephora but probably is at PMG direct. An inexpensive option to consider is PAT McGRATH LABS Mini Eye Ecstasy: Eyeshadow Palette Subversive  —or as I like to call it, "Mini Decadence."

Love purples? PAT McGRATH LABS Mothership III Eyeshadow Palette - Subversive is your palette.

I didn't list any of Pat's 6-pan MTHRSHP palettes because they're hard to find lately: they've mostly sold out everywhere by now, and I'm not sure they're coming back. 😞
