How do you prevent eyeliner from running or smudging?

I used the Benefit Roller Eyeliner in this image, but every eyeliner I’ve ever tried (including stila waterproof liquid eyeliner) has run down to under my eyes. Does anyone recommend an eyeliner, or have any tips to help me out?

Hi @NadiaDoreen ,

I suggest using setting powder below the eyeliner. I use a flat eye shadow brush and this helps keep my eyeliner in place. I hope this helps!

i would use the sephora shadow sticks as a base since they’re transfer resistant and either set the cream shadow or go in with the liner, and possibly set it later.

@NadiaDoreen  Try setting your liner with translucent setting powder. My lids are fairly dry, but my eyes water a lot. Since I often wing from my bottom lash line instead of my top lid (I have hooded eyes), that means 99% of winged liquid liner will smudge/bleed a lot—unless I set the liner with a good setting powder. I use a shadow blender brush to dust the teeniest amount of powder directly over my liner. 

Other than that, a primer can help keep your liner where it belongs if you extend the primer down/out to where you plan to place your liner.

i have oily lids so i always carry my eye primer around under and all over my lids....its the only way i get liquid liners to stay on me.
