Eyeshadow disappears seconds after applying

So no matter what I do I can't get eyeshadow or eyeliner to stick to the inner part of my eyelids. It happens to both eyes and it really is making it where I don't want to even bother putting makeup on cause this will happen and kill it for me. I have tried countless different primers, concealers and methods. I don't know what to do know. Please help! Everything eyes related is my favorite thing about makeup. I got into makeup after something traumatic happened and it has been very therapeutic for me. I really would like to find a solution. Thanks!

RE: Eyeshadow disappears seconds after applying

Hi I was wondering what a good gift for a friend would be that is under $30 🙂

Hi Alliecat1980,

I would experience this sometimes too and I realized that my eye cream was too heavy! I also tried using a bit of concealer and then setting it with a light powder and then I used a tiny bit of eye primer. I hope that works for you too!

Hi Alliecat1980!

If your eye waters frequently like mine do, try a waterproof cream/liquid eye shadow on your lid and inner corner OVER an eye shadow primer. I recommend the Too Faced Shadow Insurance eye primer (thin texture) all over your eye and on the lower lashline and Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Paint Shadow right over it but only on the lid and inner corner.

The eye primer helps control oil and the Aqua XL Paint Shadow is waterproof, so you are covered in both areas. Make sure the skin is dry to begin with and this should work! Set your products with a powder shadow over it to prevent creasing before it dries.

Stop in your local Sephora store to try it on!

Best of luck!

Amy

Just so happens I have that primer. Will go and pick up your other suggestions. Will let you know how it works out. 😁

@ProAmy! I THINK I LOVE YOU!!!!! I finally made it to my local store and picked up the color paint by Make Up For Ever. I did my make up this morning for an interview at 9am. Normally my eye makeup would take at least 3 hours because of my eye issue. Trying everything to make the makeup stick. Well using the products you suggested my eye makeup took all of 5-10 to do. It is now 3am and my eyeshadow and eyeliner is still going strong. What I find hilarious is at the store the Sephora employee who approached me to see if I needed help tried for a while to suggest other products than the color paint. Every single one she suggested I had previously purchased and was sitting in a draw in my vanity cause it didn't work. She didn't believe this would either. I'm so excited! I have this obsession with eyeshadow palettes and have collected quiet a few but have been unable to use them because of this issue. I can't wait to start playing with them all. The only negative for me is the price of the tube for the size of it. At first I thought she was handing me a sample size. However, I only needed to use the tiniest amount in the inner corners of my eyes so the tiny tube should last me a while. I bought three! Haha haha!! I can't thank you enough! I have been to both Sephora and Ulta countless times and spent hundreds and hundreds on different products only for the same issue to pop up. Sephora Pro Artist indeed!

Oh no! Has it always happened or something that just started recently?.. I don't know what can help.. One thing that was a good eyelid primer was one a couple years back but I don't remember the name it was from family dollar lol I know!! I was on a budget.. But to be honest sometimes cheap make up isn't too bad!

Have you tried applying a setting powder overtop of your eye primer?
