Eye shape and eyeliner

Hey ladies,

So I have never really worn much makeup, and I need help with my eyeliner. I have never noticed that my eyes slant slightly downward on the outsides. Maybe?? lol. In any case I am having trouble figuring out my eye shape and what style of eyeliner to wear to make them look nice. Cat eyes? stop at the edge? Wedges? REALLY big Cat eyes??? lol. Please help!

Re: Eye shape and eyeliner

What I find works best for me is lining my upper lid as normal and then opening my eye while drawing the wing. I start from the bottom of the outside corner of my eye and draw the bottom part of the wing. Then with my eye opened I draw the upper part of the wing to connect with the first line I drew. I fill everything in and also gently pull the skin to make sure there’s no skin showing. This way when my eye is opened my liner looks correct regardless of how my skin folds. This technique is sometimes referred to as ‘bat liner’ so you may be able to look online and find video tutorials. I also find using a felt tip liner works best for me personally. Hopefully this helps and good luck on your makeup journey 💕

@Vexxed Thanks for the tip!! I will try it. And I'll definitely be looking up "bat liner". lol ❤️

Re: Eye shape and eyeliner

Hi I have the same situation here one thing that has helped me out is to definitely try out different methods till u find one. Another thing that has also helped me practice is use shadow as a liner first to see how it will come out without making ur whole makeup messy if you don’t like the shape. Also play with eyeshadow cause that can help compliment your eyeliner. Last thing is always play with different colors for eyeliner.

@JustLili Thats a good idea. I will test it out. Nothing worse than having your eyeliner ruin the rest of your makeup. lol 🙄😂
