Concealer Help

Spoiler
Spoiler

Help! I am a 27 year old that has been doing my makeup the same since high school. I was born with very thin skin under my eyes which creates darker circles / red tone under my eyes. Recently my concealer is just not holding up anymore. Creasing everywhere I apply it under my eyes. Tarte creaseless concealer is what I have been using for 10+ years and have been caking it on more in the past with no issues. Even trying using less with no changes. I have tried primers, setting sprays, setting powers and just not seeing the results I am hoping for. Help! Covering my dark circles is just who I am and how I am more comfortable in my own skin. Any tips or tricks or product recommendations are more then welcome, # Am desperate… #concealer

Re: Concealer Help

@BrookieANB  I agree with the others in that trying a color corrector first then apply your concealer may help you cover the darkness.  But, as we age our skin does change.  Not that you are “ old” by any means, but over 10 years using the same product is a long time.  As you have circles that are dark blue, an orange or peach color corrector may help

And there are brightening products on the market that are color correcting too such as Smashbox Smashbox X Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector

Re: Concealer Help

🤗Hi! I have the same problem it always shows thru my concealer but there is one concealer I tried and it dosent shine thru it it’s called “true blend undercover concealer by cover girl” its really good and has a light texture but if you don’t wanna change up ur makeup routine def try brighting under eye products!! Or use the color wheel and get a color correcter for under ur eyes and put concealer on top so sorry if my tips are not what ur looking for, I really hope u figure it out so much luv to you also ur very gorgeous!! 💗💗

Re: Concealer Help

Hi @BrookieANB. How’s your skincare routine? If it hasn’t changed in a while, it might be time to shake it up and get more hydration into your skin, which might help with the cakey concealer. You skin type can change as you age.

Also, colour corrector can help as @CynthieLu mentioned. Generally, whatever colour your see, you’d use the opposite colour from a colour wheel. For blue-ish tones, something orangey or peachy will help counteract it. For reds, use something green. Although, for redness, it could be an underlying skin condition that might be causing it. Treating the cause can help reduce or even eliminate the redness.

I hope this helps!

@ShawnPRO tagging a sephora pro artist

I think color correction would be helpful for you @BrookieANB  but it's not something that is my strong suit. Hopefully one of sephoras pro artists will wiegh in here. Or someone with more experience with dark circles 🩷
