dehydrated skin

i was wondering what good products would be good for dehydrated skin? since its summer i have the ac on (got a window one for my bedroom) and i need it on because when i turn it off, my room gets really humid and warm so i was wondering if anybody has recommendations for dehydrated sensitive dry skin? could be serums, oils, moisturizer etc but i'd like to keep it as low $$ as possible 😅

@fromis9 I know exactly how you feel. I feel really dry when I’m in a heavily air conditioned room. Here’s a few tips I try to use.

Run your AC and the warmest setting you can tolerate. The colder you make it, the more moisture it’ll pull from the air.  If you absolutely need it to be cool, try adding humidity back with a humidifier wherever you spend the moist time in that room.

Hydrate from within and drink plenty of water. Do whatever it takes to keep you reminded and motivated. Some people use apps to remind them. I like using a tumbler with a straw to make it more interesting.

If that’s still not enough, try a few tweaks to your skincare routine. Use a humectant to draw moisture into your skin, then seal that moisture in with occlusives. Humectants include things like hyaluronic acid. I like using The INKEY List Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL  and #SEPHORA COLLECTION All Day Hydrator Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer 1.69 oz/ 50 mL. Occlusives are thicker ingredients like petroleum jelly or lanolin. Think Vaseline, Aquaphor, or balms that have similar texture. This is just the tip of the skincare iceberg but if you already have a decent routine in place, it shouldn’t take much tweaking to get it to work with your ac environment.
