What is the best exfoliater to use for dry flaky skin

I am suffering from dry skin and I get a lot of flakiness. So I’m looking for any recommendations!!!

Re: What is the best exfoliater to use for dry flaky skin

It's taken me years, but I've found the following exfoliators to work for me - my skin is combination-dry (in winter, just dry), dehydrated and sensitive -

  • Chemical Exfoliator - First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads - these are gentle enough that I can use them every night, even with my skin being sensitive
  • Physical Exfoliator - Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant - I swap out the chemical exfoliator and use a physical exfoliator once a week

I've also found the following products to be really helpful with my dryness and flaky skin -

  • hyaluronic acid serum - Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel or The Ordinary. Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5.  I use a hyaluronic acid serum twice a day, after exfoliating and before my moisturizer.
  • Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, as needed - I find this to be very helpful in the winter
  • 1 - 2 times per week, in the shower, Blithe Patting Splash Mask - Soothing Green Tea - I've been loving the results I get when I use this product.
  • once a month - either Primary Raw DoYou 2-Step Milk Peeling Kit or Murad Hydro-Glow Aqua Peel
  • sheet masks, as needed - Dr. Jart+ Dermask Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution, Too Cool For School (Coconut Ceramide Mask or Egg Cream Mask Hydration) and Sephora has some nice face masks as well (I like the avocado and rose ones for hydrating/moisturizing my skin)

RE: What is the best exfoliater to use for dry flaky skin

Depending on your level of sensitivity determines your type of exfoliator. I have sensitive, dry skin that has become acne prone. I used to be able to do physical scrubs but now actually hurt my skin. I’m partial to a low AHA exfoliator to start like Pixi Glow Tonic or an enzyme scrub like the Tatcha rice bran powder. I wish I could use Clinique but I am allergic to the majority of their skin care so that’s out for me. If you are willing to spend more money a good physical scrub I liked was the caudalie gentle buffing cream and using the Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask once every two weeks has also helped with the flaking.

Yeah a lady at Sephora recommended to me to use the Peter Thomas Roth Chemical Enzyme Gel and it works to a certain extent to me. It gets rid of the flaky and old dry skin but I believe it is making my pores worse.
