Nars Sheer Glow foundation vs Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation for dry skin?

I have tried so so many foundations and MUFE (ultra) HD and Armani Luminous silk used to be my HG's for dry skin, but they don't seem to be working as well lately. My skin looks so dull, dry and it starts separating after a couple of hours. So which one should I get? I want something that looks dewy/glowy and healthy and it should last long because I work 9 hour shifts. Coverage doesn't really matter.

I don't mind getting tips for primers and skincare either! I have tried both the primerizer and the hydrating primer from Smashbox and on lines and my t-zone I use Benefit porefessional.

It cosmetics cc cream. (Not the illumination one). It gives a nice glow and has good coverage while looking natural. When i use a Becca primer under it, my skin looks really fresh.

I have to say my favourite would be guerlain lingerie de peau. That’s my HG and I am on the dry side. They did change the formula and I like the old one better but the new one is good too. The guerlain parure de Lumiere is another to try is the lingerie doesn’t work for you.

I like the sheer glow out of those two. I also love the Givenchy photo’perfexion foundation. It is beautifully dewy and never feels or looks drying.

MUFE HD used to be my HG too, but I do feel like they’ve changed to formula recently, cause I noticed my last bottle wasn’t as much coverage as my previous one. I’ve been using the nars tinted moisturizer with a kabuki brush to get a medium coverage, very hydrating. For a regular foundation my go to has been the YSL touché elcat.

Can't speak on the NARS Sheer Glow. I was about to buy it and then it was announced they were no longer cruelty free. I do have a friend who swears by it, though. I agree on the Giorgio Armani thing. Honestly, the foundation looks good for like 20 minutes before it breaks apart on my face. Such a bummer with the liquid foundation, though I do love the powder.

My favorite foundations that haven't let me down are the TF Born This Way and the new Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion. The LM foundation is MAGICAL.

@betulsk, of the two foundations you mentioned, the NARS Sheer Glow worked better with my combo-dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin, but I think it works better in the spring/summer months than in the winter.  My skin gets more dry as the weather gets colder and the Sheer Glow isn't as hydrating as I'd like.  Before this year, I relied on the Armani Luminous Silk foundation and I still like the LSF but discovered Too Faced Born This Way Foundation this year and the Too Faced has worked very well for my skin.  It contains coconut water which is known for its hydrating properties.  My skin doesn't dry out with the Born This Way Foundation.

Too Faced also makes a hydrating primer (Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Primer) that I like to use under the Born This Way Foundation.  It's lightweight but effective - I find that my oily T-zone handles it well and that the dry parts of my face love its hydrating effects.

I agree on the TF Born This Way foundation and primer.

@betulsk I personally didn't like UD Naked Skin because it looked like it sat on top of my skin, and I can't speak for NARS Sheer Glow 😞

I have dry skin and I use Too Faced Born This Way everyday. It's definitely HG status because it gives a beautiful "natural" finish, with medium to full buildable coverage. I noticed that it has smoothing properties so I can skip silicone primers sometimes!

Re: Nars Sheer Glow foundation vs Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation for dry skin?

Honestly? I've tried both Sheer Glow and Naked Skin, and both weren't moisturizing enough for me. I'm using Luminous Silk right now and I gotta say, it's just kinda meh on my skin.  Like you, I need dewy finishes for my dry skin.  My HG, for two glorious weeks, was Too Faced Born This Way.  It was radiant, moisturizing, had good coverage, and didn't separate.  Only problem: something in the formula angered my skin and left me with little white heads everywhere.

As for skincare, it sounds like you could amp up your moisturizing game.  I love to apply a facial oil a couple of minutes before I start my makeup.  Most foundations melt right into my face because of the extra oil slip.  Also, when I'm hella dry, I add a drop of facial oil (jojoba for me!) into my foundation for extra radiance.  Good luck!
