Makeup for neutral/cool undertone girls

Spoiler
Neutral/cool undertone

Hi, so I do notice that a lot of makeup shades for black women are warm-toned. I have a mixture of green and blue veins and never felt like my concealer or foundation truly ever matched me. I look yellow and I hate it. Does anyone know any makeup brands that sell concealer/foundation for black girls who have neutral/cool undertones, or should I just buy a blue corrector? I have brown skin and I’m currently wearing shade 430W (both concealer and foundation) from Rare Beauty. I don't know much about makeup and have only been wearing it for 3 years. I'm scared to try a different shade, this is the shade that a Sephora employee recommended to me three years ago. I like something that feels light and natural on the face. Any suggestions??

Re: Makeup for neutral/cool undertone girls

Hey 👋🏽 @Eli6 , medium tan neutral/olive person here!

So rare beauty (I think?) puts a lot of pink into their foundations, as does lancôme, because I match cool in Rare Beauty for her concealer, haven't tried the foundation add can't get a match in the powder.  Other brands probably use some more green/blue and I'm usually neutral or olive.  Those are Armani, Dior,  Pat McGrath, Ami Colé and Lys.  Other brands I've noticed that listed olive are Haus Labs and Fenty.  Ami Colé, Pat and Lys are black owned, so I would start with any of those to avoid what I call the "dust trap."  Fenty is an oddity, because they use a lot of orange in their base, so my matches are all over the place but I usually go for a medium warm or neutral.  Rihanna herself is a medium, so I can usually use her shade as a starting point since I'm fairly close, just slightly more green.

Here are some of my matches

PAT McGRATH LABS Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Weightless Foundation Medium 18 - this is my best match IMO, but her base seems to lean yellow .

LYS Beauty Triple Fix Serum Foundation TN6

LYS Beauty Triple Fix Blurring and Hydrating Skin Tint Foundation Stick TN6   this is skin like in me

Ami Colé Skin-Enhancing Lightweight & Blurring Foundation Stick 320

Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Natural Glow Foundation 9

DIOR Dior Forever Skin Glow Hydrating Foundation 4WO Warm Olive

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear Care & Glow Foundation with Hyaluronic Acid 425C

DIOR Forever Glow Star Filter Multi-Use Complexion Enhancing Booster 4N , this stuff I love, but I noticed the deeper shades run orange.  It has a pearlescent look to it, so it's awesome to mix and later with other complexion products, so that takes away the orange of it

Buying a blue corrector can definitely help, especially if you have something you like wearing and have already purchased, but it's orange.  Elf and LA girl make super affordable blue correctors.

I would go and get shade matched one more time and request samples.  If the store can't give samples, have them swatch 3 shades from one brand on you, like on your neck, so you can wear test and see if they match you in various lighting.  Once you have a match, use findination's tool to see what equivalent matches you have in other brands.

If that's not an option, get Sephora Favorites Complexion Try-On Sample Bag With Redeemable Voucher Deep (or the color that suits you, this as the only tag that wanted to show). It's a like a down payment on a foundation because you can get ANY foundation with the voucher, not just the samples given, but try the samples anyhow and see what you like.  That and Haus Labs does something similar, where they send you three matches and you pay for the samples to help get a match.

Re: Makeup for neutral/cool undertone girls

Thank you so much, It is a struggle out here! Might I add you went beyond my expectations with all the options you provided, It is exactly what I need! I'll definitely check out all of your recommendations,

look into the blue corrector, and see if I can get swabbed again for my shade. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
