recycling store sample packaging?

I've been getting a lot of store samples recently, while I love sampling products, it comes with quite a bit of plastic waste. Unfortunately most of the plastics used lack recycling lables. I want to find out what is/is not recyclable. Specifically; the clear plastic pods for product, the white plastic spatulas, and the transparent small zip lock baggies. It seems the only thing with a recycling symbol is the larger white zip lock bag. Pictured is the plastic waste from one store visit (3 samples) with a particularly zealous employee that loves her method of packaging samples.

Thank you for your feedback. With the items that don't have the specific recycling symbol on it, I would check with your local recycling center to see what they will accept.

My recycling service only accepts plastics 1-7, without symbols I'm unable to use my local service. With the new "clean at Sephora" seal I'd hope Sephora would also be committed to reducing waste. Do the stores have any programmes for recycling the sample packaging? As I'm loathe to put these things in a landfill, I've accumulated a large number of clear plastic product pods.

Hi @grrrissa, while we don't currently have a sample recycling program, I'd be happy to forward your feedback! 🙂 You can also always clean your pods and bring them with you to the store, and a cast member can reuse the ones you already have if you're not looking to accumulate more!
