in-store samples

I just went in-person shopping and made a purchase  (over $30).   The cashier did not offer any samples and only gave me one when I did ask.  If I shop on-line, I can get 2.  What is the in-store policy?

Generally, our Sephora stores do not offer two samples per purchase. However, to receive samples in store, you can ask a Cast Member for assistance in making a sample of the product you would like!

Buying a product on-line seems like a better deal as you can pick 2 samples and there are free trial promotions.  I didn't realize that in-store and on-line would be such a different experience.  Thanks.
