Why can’t I just rely on same day delivery?

This is the 3rd time I’ve done same day delivery. The first time was seamless because it went to my local store. The second time my same day delivery didn’t arrive by the end of the day because there was something out of stock and it went to a store too far for any willing 3rd party driver to deliver my order. Today, I thought it would be different because I made sure to read ALL of the FAQs & fine print which clearly states that if the store closest to me is out of stock the order will still be delivered without the item which assumed that it must have changed because this must have happened a lot to you guys a lot & it’s been a month so perhaps they fixed it, what are the chances of their inventory being off that many times maybe it was a glitch because it was a fabulous first experience. My bad because I did my due diligence to ENSURE (Sephora’s words) that I would receive my same day delivery today - I even scheduled a window and paid the extra $3 - thinking it would solidify the process this time. My bad because we’re doing this all over again. They’ll tell you that there is NOTHING they can do. They can’t even process a refund until it’s never delivered to you. They won’t offer your same day delivery fee back. They won’t attempt to communicate with the 3rd party apps, they won’t offer to attempt to coordinate with the store, they won’t do anything to offer a solution whatsoever. I’m not sure they’re able to, but how could I have spoken to a “manager” (I feel like a Karen typing this but, dude, this is wild & I have suffered physically and mentally at times in order to go out of my way NOT to be a Karen & I wish I was exaggerating ) and still have gotten “there is nothing we can do nonsense) The excuse they love to use is “we don’t control which store it’s sent to when there is a product out of stock the order goes to the store that has all of the products you ordered”  which is NO WHERE in big nor fine print anywhere - in fact as I mentioned earlier it says as the order is put together you will NOT be charged but instead you’ll be informed of the product being out of stock via e-mail with a code for free standard delivery as an alternative. A WAY BETTER ALTERNATIVE than waiting around like a dope ALL day for an order that will never arrive and you you’re just supposed to deal with it. Not to mention that they encourage you to use your same day delivery to surprise your family and friends with gifts etc. and while traveling - and if you read this whole post you’d know that I do in fact have a friend in town that I had something for in the order. (Screenshots of where it says that in FAQs too) I’m not sure why they are offering this service for an annual fee of $50 while using 3rd party apps that are often completely unreliable ESPECIALLY when extremely expensive orders are going out to customers (or not going out at all in my case) unreasonable distances are involved. I mean, why would Sephora do their due diligence in making sure that their products arrive safely to their customers?Yes I uncharacteristically highlighted and take notes because I can’t even believe my lifeYes I uncharacteristically highlighted and take notes because I can’t even believe my life
