Unsuccessful Authorization Order

I made an order this past Friday for my girlfriend, who uses a p.o. box instead of her regular address due to thieves. I never received any messages saying the order was cancelled or something was wrong. As a first time Customer making a purchase, this is very bad look on Sephora. Also there aren't any problems with my card so I don't see why something would be unauthorized. It's just a very frustrating situation that I hope can be fixed. Also if something couldn't be verified, why was the money taken for purchase???? Just very unsatisfied with the Sephora.
