Store closure question - about testers

Dear Sephora,

i'm glad to hear you're closing your stores in the US and Canada to help contain the spread.

I'm wondering if you will discard all of your opened testers once the stores reopen?

Re: Store closure question - about testers

The National Institutes of Health published an article on the 17th of March, stating that the virus can live on cardboard for up to 24 hours, and on plastic and stainless steel for up to 2-3 days. Since the stores will be closed for a couple of weeks and the testers presumptively won't be handled in that time, I think it's safe to assume that things like perfume bottles, hair and skin care products, etc. will be safe. Though it will probably not survive on things like lipstick, blush, and other makeup products, I hope Sephora will replace those, just to be on the safe side.

Hi @mmmiu,

The display testers would have been cleaned with disinfectant and replaced as needed. I will share your feedback regarding this with the appropriate team. Thank you!

Warm regards,

Laurie
