Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

I placed an order online today, thinking that Sephora would have switched to different couriers.  But no… just received a Canada Post tracking number.  WTF Sephora the Canada Post strike has been going on for 10 days now. Why are you still using them for shipping?

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

What an absolute joke. I ordered something on December 1 after I saw that they were switching carriers. This new order was to replace one that I ordered on Nov. 13, and is therefore stuck in Canada Post's transit somewhere. Well imagine my surprise when I realized they were going to ship my new order with Canada Post anyway?! WHAT IS THE POINT, SEPHORA? And when I tried to cancel, the app wouldn't let me. I regularly receive FedEx, Purolator, DHL, and other carriers, so I know it's not that Canada Post is my town's only option. (The icing on the cake to this ordeal is that I ended up making a THIRD order to pick up at a physical location an hour away, only to get home and find out that the product they'd given me was exploded.) Can't wait to return ALL THREE orders and find somewhere else to shop. This is honestly so unacceptable for a multibillion dollar company.

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

I hope they lose a lot of money for pissing off so many customers!

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

And why isn't Sephora saying anything about extending return policy? I don't want to be using products sitting in I don't know where until Canada Post picks it up, so I'll be returning what I purchased. But how are we supposed to do that if we don't receive our packages till 30 days has passed since purchase date? Is Sephora forcing ppl to take store credit instead?

I also live in a metro area and have never received a package from Sephora using Canada Post till now - after the strike started...even small businesses are using couriers, especially non rural areas.

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

I’m thinking about filing a chargeback with my credit card. Such terrible customer service! I ordered 2 WEEKS after the strike and the morons still used Canada Post to ship my $150 item

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

I'm in the same 'boat' - and once CP is working again, I will be refusing delivery - which means that the parcel will automatically be returned. Not knowing how and where my order was stored for weeks, I am not going to accept a product that is sensitive to temperature changes. (The ingredients of cosmetics are formulated to be stable @ room temperature. Anything above or below can & most likely will alter them - and I am not going to put the health of my skin at risk for the sake of a company's sales records.)

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

Same here. Ordered a few days ago & assumed it would be shipped courier. Even received a shipping confirmation email. And then today, receive another email saying shipping is delayed as it was processed as a Canada Post delivery. Did the online chat, only to be told it shows it will be shipped Dec 16. How can they know that? Do they have a crystal ball that shows when the strike will be over?! And the online chat rep said that if I don’t get it in time for Christamas I can return it for a refund. Thanks, but how does that help.

According to online Sephora's earnings in 2024 are expected to be strong, with the online store generating about $3.6 billion in sales and the company gaining market share in several regions.” Yet they can’t pivot to send shipments by courier. I bet upper management is still going to get their bonuses this year.

ABSOLUTELY NO THOUGHT FOR THE CUSTOMERS AT ALL. THE SAME CUSTOMERS THAT GIVE THEM THEIR 3.6B IN SALES… DISGUSTING!

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

At this point I am ready to boycott Sephora. I have see every other company step up during this time, switch postal companies to ensure costumers get their orders. I have even seen companies like fedex out delivering to the communities that normal are canada post dependent. But a big company like Sephora can’t make a simple switch for their customers, then why should they deserve our business

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

Every product Sephora sell (except for their own in house brand which is garbage) can be bought elsewhere! No need to support Sephora when they let us all down

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

Omg I just wasted so much time filling my basket with gifts only to see a January 2025 delivery!!! I am beyond annoyed!! Don’t tell me Canada post is the only option to my neighbour! I have fed ex, ups, purolator, dhl, and smaller delivery companies out here daily! This is ridiculous, even small businesses pivoted in some cases and you people can’t figure it out??!! BS!

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

Sephora almost never ships my orders via Canada Post. Of course the rare time they do, it would of course be during the strike! Why ship to me via another delivery company every other time of year and then change to Canada Post for the one order I place while they are on strike? Why even leave Canada Post as an option right now when there is no clear idea of when they will be back to work? I get that there are way worse things to be upset about, but when so many other companies have already made the switch to UPS or FedEx or FleetOptics, why is Sephora not doing the same?

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

Agreed so ridiculous. I ordered the last day of the sale in Nov, it was “shipped” the day before the strike. It has been sitting in Alberta since. I went to live chat to ask if they could do anything or even ship to a store and was told no. They then told me they would cancel my order and redo it, and it would be shipped via a different carrier. Low and behold it was still sent to Canada Post and has been sitting there for weeks. Went to chat again was was told they have no control and can’t do anything further even though I was told it would be shipped any other way but Canada post 😡

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

Agreed!!!!! I just filled cart up with Christmas gifts and at Checkout, it gave an estimated delivery date of Jan 8, 2025!!!  I read further and realized Sephora is still using Canada Post.  I'm in a city in Alberta, every other store I've ordered from has pivoted and I'm receiving packages from other mail carriers.  This is ridiculous Sephora!

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

Yep, same here! I contacted customer service and after telling me over and over that they were sorry for the inconvenience, but there was nothing they could do, they ended the chat so I couldn’t reply further and had to start a new chat! My package hasn’t left the warehouse yet and is awaiting Canada post pickup- why is this not being the directed via another method or being cancelled and refunded? This is dishonest sales practice to ship things via a method that isn’t functioning- but why do they care, they have already taken the money from my credit card. Has anyone had any luck?

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

This just happened to me. I ordered yesterday and they shipped today with CP knowing they are on strike. Why would they not pivot to Purolator or UPS.

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

@mshelly We understand your concern. While we've expanded our network to include additional courier services, we want to ensure that every Canadian can access the Sephora products they love. In many areas, Canada Post remains the best–and sometimes the only–option for shipping. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate this situation.

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

This is a load of BS.  Read the posts, so many people are getting packages via other couriers.  If you used an alternate method there would be fewer people waiting on their products.

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

This is absolutely an unacceptable response! I will never order from Sephora again. I had 400 dollars worth of Christmas gifts. I can't afford to go out and spend another 400. Things are tough enough for people this year. Do better!!!

Re: Still Using Canada Post despite strike.

I'm in the same boat. I spent almost 400$ as well thinking they would use a different carrier. My order was since 28 of November. I'm now considering canceling the order altogether. Let them deal with there products and canada post. But then, i still have to wait for them to receive the items from canada post in order to receive my refund so I could use the money and get different gifts. I would have paid the extra for a different carrier as well. So upset with sephora. I know one thing for sure. I'm not ever shopping there again. I'll go to which ever company and buy directly from them.
