Sticker placed over product expiration date

I received what appears to be an attempt to sell expired products. When I opened my online order, I noticed the back of the product with the lot information was off center, so I peeled it back and discovered a sticker with a different expiration date (07/25)  had been placed over the original one (08/24) and received the product in September, so it’s already expired based on the original expiration date. Any idea what’s going on here?
