Service in-store for Hydrating facial by Perk..questions..

Hello! I had an experience that I am curious about, while I ended up getting another service & was very satisfied.. I still am wondering about the hydrating facial by Perk. I made an appointment originally for this service, & I voiced concern about the procedure on the phone & was reassured it would be okay to get the service done.. I am not super clear on what my skin can handle, but it can be sometimes sensitive & some products with vitamin C has made it feel burning/stingy. The customer rep on the phone reassured me that there are several settings on the facial service machine by Perk, that could be adjusted due to sensitivity of the skin. Then when I showed up in the store & let them know that my skin may be sensitive...the manager was standing by & it turned into a slightly uncomfortable situation for me, as they kept repeating the words " you may choose to get the service, but we would advise you not to". I understand liability & the possibility that my skin may react poorly to the treatment were now being addressed, erring on the side of caution by management ...but looking back, I can't help but think about how badly I was feeling that I couldn't get the treatment after I made the appointment ahead of time & had been told there were low/mild settings that could be used for sensitive skin. It was slightly awkward, as they kept repeating that I "can choose to get the service but that they don't recommend it", then at some point, it was pointed out that they could try a little & stop if it seems to be more harmful than helpful... I was hoping to at least test it out or try but somehow I got the idea that it would be better to not even try at all. I think I was pretty confused honestly. In the end, they did not offer to do any other service in place of this, even though I had taken the time to make this appointment. I had to fish for another service to be given to me, so I asked for a skincare advice (which turned out to be good), but I couldn't help but keep at the back of my mind how sad I felt that I couldn't get the perk facial.. Does anyone know the exact protocol in determining if a client is able to get the facial by Perk, & if so, are there settings that could be more mild/sensitive for someone who may have some sensitivities? Thanks for any help!
