Return Item Purchased in Store Via Mail?

Hey, I recently was recommended the Born This Way foundation by Too Faced. Wore it once and HATED IT! Made me look like I mixed my foundation with cooking oil my skin was so oily after like 2 hours. I want to return it but I purchased it in store like almost 30 days ago, I did not even know that you could return used items to sephora so i never bothered trying. I live hours away from the nearest sephora store. I am not even looking for a refund I would prefer a store credit because I will use the credit to purchase a new foundation on Sephora online asap! I understand the 'policy' but I am wondering if there is an exception based on my circumstances?
