Receiving damaged item

I received the Melt cosmetics Blueprint eyeshadow palette stack in the mail and one of the shadows is completely shattered. I’ve been shopping at Sephora for years now and this is the first damaged item I've received. I am unsure what to do now because it looks like the item is out of stock online. I emailed customer services and am waiting to hear back. How long does this process take? Will I need to send it back first and will they replace it for me?  I'm sad because I bought this for Diwali and wanted to wear the shades 😞

***UPDATE*** Customer Service reached out to me within minutes and helped me out. Sephora has awesome customer care!  🙂
