Missed birthday gift

Hi does anyone know the rules on exceptions for missing the birthday gift window? My dad had passed away right after my birthday 3 months ago and with everything going on I didn’t have the memory or time to go online or in store to redeem it. I was just looking online now to place an order and remembered that birthday gifts were a thing and I had missed out on it yet again as 2 years prior I was in another country. Hoping anyone knows if you’re allowed to redeem it late somehow?

I went into Sephora today to redeem my birthday gift but was told I missed it by a week. Can you help me too?

Hi @LaurieBT I missed my birthday gift this year too 😞  I was sick with COVID and unable to grab it.  I went to the store today to try and get one, but was refused.  My birthday was last month.  Is it possible to redeem online?

Hi  @LaurieBTand @keelybt. In 2020, the last time I was able to receive a birthday gift I was able to do so a couple months after. Last year, I was going through homelessness AND finishing my college courses so I was not able to receive my birthday gift. Is there any way I can do so? If not I understand. Thank you for your time.

I also missed redeeming my birthday gift. The email announcing that I had a new birthday gift got lost in the shuffle, and by the time I found it, a few months had passed since my birthday. Is there any way to redeem my gift?

If you would like to redeem your gift online, please call 1-877-SEPHORA (1-877-737-4672) prior to completing your order so a Beauty Advisor can add the gift for you. Thank you!

A similar issue happened to me. In my case, when I had purchased from Sephora at the end of March, my gift option was not available yet. I was handling a cross country move in the few weeks around my birthday (April 14th). I noticed it was showing yesterday (5.22.22), but it is not allowing me to add to my purchase.

 

The current policy " two weeks before or after your birthday or any time during your birthday month" means all insiders are not being given the same window for the offer. For example, my DOB (4/14) limits me to a 30-day window while someone who has a 5/31 birthday would have 45 days. There are easy ways to rewrite the policy to give the same (or at least closer) number of days to all insiders for gift redemption. 

 

I called the customer service to see if they could manually add my gift, but I was told no exceptions 😞

Hi my birthday month has also passed and I did not redeem my birthday gift.  In previous years, they always gave it to me even if the time passed but this time, the customer service rep was so unhelpful and not only did not give it to me but disconnected the call in the middle of the conversation and sent it to the end of call survey.  Very disappointed in Sephora service as I was just calling before I was purchasing something.

I had the exact same situation just now. I missed my birthday gift window by 2 days and I called the customer service based on the information provided by the Mods in this thread... I called the customer service number and representative was pretty dismissive. Can you help? Thank you!

Danee I had the same issue. I’ve been a long standing Rouge member and I was surprised Staniece just dismissed my request very quickly re: no exceptions. I explained the website was allowing me to add it to the order I placed last night, but it wasn’t showing in the order. If the website was showing my ability to select the item (250 points), it’s misleading to not apply it. To take such a firm stance on applying birthday points, which would allow me to attend educational events and participate with Sephora more, seems counterintuitive to doing business. 😞

Hi there, I'm having the same issue not being able to redeem my birthday gift (12/29 baby here). I've been told in-store that I'm not able to redeem it more than 2 weeks prior to my birthday, and that I only have 2 lousy days after my birthday to redeem. Any chance you would be able to help me @keelybt or @DaneeBT ?

@starmilk  I'm sorry for the confusion! You can redeem your birthday gift at any time during your birth month or within 2 weeks of your birthday. I will send you a PM to help.
