Lost Rouge Status Unexpectedly

I have been a rouge member since 2016. This is the first year I lost my Rouge status, despite of spending more than $1000 in 2021.

 

I went back to my last Rouge email and it says I needed to spend $71 to renew for 2022, but it did not say I had to do that by the last day of 2021! Without knowing my rouge status is gone, I continued to spend more than $100 in 2022.

 

It was not until the Spring Sale I realized I became a VIB now.. I thought the total spending is usually calculated in a rolling basis - meaning that at any point if my spending exceeds $1000 in the past 12 months, I will gain rouge status. However, a customer service agent just told me I have to spend another $1000 within 2022 to regain Rouge status, and my spending in 2021 DO NOT count anymore!

 

Is this for real? I never received any warning!! This is so disappointing. 😞

I apologize for any confusion as the program tiers are based on your spend within 1 calendar year (January 1st -December 31st). For all clients, the spend will reset on January 1st every year. An explicit notification would have been nice. Way to lose a customer!

 

The rouge benefit has really deteriorated over the years. Better discounts are available everywhere. And with this happening there is absolutely no reason to shop here anymore. Not worth it! Good bye Sephora - I will take my business elsewhere.
