Leaking product in package

Hi, I recently ordered several hair products online and one of the large conditioners started leaving and left a bit of a mess. I understand that Sephora was probably busy with the recent 15% off sale, but that shouldn’t mean the packaging quality worsens. I’ve never experienced this before; is this normal? Thanks.
