Know Issues with Sephora Gift Cards

Hello,

I received a $100 gift card from my mom this past Christmas.

I went to use it on 4/8/25 for the Sephora Sale and when I rubbed off the gift card number and pin several of the numbers did not show up and were left on the adhesive strip.

I tried to see if I could somehow get the numbers but it was impossible to read them.

I went to a Sephora inside Khols on 4/12/25 and they tried to help me, but told me they could not swipe the card and I needed to go to a stand alone Sephora.

I then went to a stand alone Sephora on 4/12/25 and they told me that this was a known issue with the Sephora gift cards.  They were also not able to scan it or get it to work.

I have the receipt that my mom kept from her purchase of this gift card.  I have the adhesive strip showing how it kept some of the numbers on it.

Nolyan at the Sephora I went was very helpful, but he was not able to get it to work.  He told me I could try to contact customer service, but had told me other people with this issue had not been able to get it resolved.

I can't understand how a gift card that has a scan strip, a scan bar code and other numbers on it can not be traced so that it can be used by the customer.  I have worked at a major grocery store and believe if this is a known issue, those gift cards should be pulled as a stop sale.

I want to try to get some resolution on this as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, I am only able to see 10 digits.  I believe the next three digits are 887, this is my best guess.

Please also find attached the gift card receipt for this gift card.

The adhesive on the card is picking up everything my wallet.
