Incorrect balance on giftcard

My giftcard is showing an incorrect balance. I made one in store purchase (for which i have a receipt) and the remaining gift card balance is showing as a lower amount. The person I spoke to at the Sephora number was completely unhelpful and said they can't track the purchase history for their own giftcards. All they could do was suggest I reach out to Cashstar and the number they gave me is actually for Ikea giftcards! What can I do to retrieve the correct balance on this scam card? I will never purchase a gift card through Sephora EVER again.
