I will never shop at sephora again

I was sold an incorrect product in May 2022. I only used it twice because I do not wear make up regularly. I went to Sephora believing I was going to product experts. I went in to buy foundation - but I was sold  tinted moisturizer, and I was there for at half an hour. ( I wear weleda moisturiser - so I was using this product over my cream) I did not question the expert and it was about 2 months later than I read the tube. The entire time I thought I bought a HORRIBLE product by bareminerals. I did not know I was sold the WRONG product

I contacted the store, then head office. I was told someone would get back to me. It has been months.

I will never shop at Sephora again and since anyone can work there, even without product knowledge I want to know when I can start? Please send details for the app!!

bareMinerals - I thought your foundation was horrid, until I realized it was not foundation and it was not your fault.

I'm sorry to hear about this! As the item was purchased in May 2022, regretfully, our stores would not be able to process a return or exchange for the item. However, as the item was purchased in store, I recommend contacting the Sephora store once more and request to speak with the Store Director to see if they might be able to make an accommodation.

Yes, it is now December. I did speak to the local store in the summer, then later with head office. I was sold the wrong product, after spending half an hour with YOUR  personal consultant. As soon as I saw it was the wrong product I contacted the store. It was not more than 2 months after purchase. I only used it TWICE. I did not read the tube because I assumed Sephora had trained and knowledgeable staff. I should have went to a drug store where I would have had professional help. Lesson leaned, your are not a trusted source. Thank you for wasting my time, and thank you for the great in store experience with staff that do not even know what they are selling.

Sephora is a joke!

BTW, I did contact bare minerals about this experience and I received a response.. They should know that Sephora hires uninformed staff, wasting everyone's time and money.

That is not how a business is supposed to run!

It is December now.

The product was purchased in May, but the issue was raised months ago.

The bottom line is that HQ said they would get back to me, and they did not. That is the reason I am posting on this site.

Sephora, all you managed to do was waste  my time and money. The store did nothing, HQ did nothing.

What you need to do is train your staff on products. I took direction from your staff -  that was the mistake, and one that Sephora has not even acknowledged yet.

I would not have an issue if I was actually sold foundation - the product I went in for.

Worst customer service ever!

Months later, it appears nobody at Sephora can mitigate this riddle, so this might help.

I make custom furniture.

You come to me and ask me to fabricate something for outdoor use - but I suggest fabric that is not rated for outdoor use.

You pay for the fabric and labor and the fabric falls apart and fades in the sun.

Is that your fault, or my fault for not knowing my products?

If you can't answer this responsibly, you should not be in business.
