Help with Shared Rouge Code

Someone gave me a rouge code that someone else had shared with them, but they decided not to use it and shared it with me. I tried using it, but it seems that it's only available for them to use and no further transfer. Is there a way I can use it? They forwarded me the email with the invite, as well as the in-person barcode.
