Got scammed

I purchased a gift card to sephora from frys for 50$ and gifted it to my friend for her graduation, she went to use the gift card and few months after and she informed me that when she tried to use it, the cashier said the balance is 0$ and that this is a common scam that has been happening with sephora gift cards SPECIFICALLY. I tried to contact my bank as thats what the sephora website says. But that was of no use as it is not the sellers fault, it is only sephoras fault. I want my money back.

I lost the money, I was told to contact sephora customer support under my post, I did and they told me to contact Frys and said its a third party so I have to contact them because thats where I purchased from. But frys said its not their fault and it is a sephora gift card so I should contact sephora.
