Gift card scam?

I bought a $50 gift card for my niece for Xmas at dollarama. She went to use it and it was 0! She called and they told her it was used but she never used the card at all. I’m seeing a lot posts about the same issue so there seems to be some sort of scam going on. You call and there’s no resolution. Sephora needs to look into this issue asap. I’ll be disputing this and advising them that many people are experiencing this same issue.
