Gift Card not working

I gave both of my daughters $50 Sephora gift cards that I purchased at my grocery store. When they tried to use them, the balance was $0. Sephora sent me to the seller. And of course, the seller told me to go back to Sephora. Both passed the buck. I am very disappointed in the CS for both Sephora and HEB. I started a chargeback with my cc company and I feel confident it will be resolved.  It is so frustrating to have such poor CS though.
