GIFT CARD not working when it should?!?!

I have a gift card (NEVER used and NOT expired!!). I entered it in, and it worked perfectly fine. Then I realized one of the products in my bag was in the wrong shade, so I went back to my bag and fixed it. (Keep in mind, NOTHING was purchased). After I'd fixed it I came back and tried to enter the gift card number and pin and the website tells me its balance is $0. Why u tryna do this to me Sephora??? I just wanted my makeup😭😭😭But  I'm actually *very* unhappy about this. I thought there'd be better service.
