Boxing Day Promo Code Not Working for MakeupByMario Sale Items.

I am trying to use the promo code for extra20 for boxing day in checkout for the makeupbymario sculpting stick (because it is on sale and is under the sale category) but when i add the promo code at checkout it says to add a sale item, the code works on all other sale products, what can I do? I want to buy this before the sale ends.
