Nope @Loretta55. I grew up in Ohio so I've been to Ohio, PA, Indiana, Illinois, and then most of the states south of those. West - I've been to California, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, and Montana. I'm really missing the great plains, northeast and the non-contiguous states. I find it quite humorous that my 4th grade self thought I would have one of two careers: first woman president or businesswoman in NYC.

Chiming in here too.. SheaMoisture’s castor oil edge treatment. I have to go light with it, I use it like a finishing wax once my hair has dried and it’s tricky getting it through your hair, but it like seals your curls from humidity and boosts the volume a bit. It’s the perfect finishing touch

Make sure your scalp is healthy. I use Curl Smith’s scalp serums to help my hair grow. They have two that you’re supposed to use together, one in the morning and one at night. I think they’re pretty effective but they are just so expensive. Next I’m going to try out Righteous Roots because I know a lot of curlies who use it and their hair grows super fast. Also make sure you’re taking biotin supplements!

I highly recommend deva curl products, they have a big collection now but I’d definitely go with their original shampoo (no-poo) and conditionner (one-condition) for a start. I’ve been using these products for about 7 years now and they made a a huge difference In my natural hair journey! Along with all the tips mentioned here, I would suggest to drink lots of water, decreasing the frequency of hair wash and introducing the co-washing (washing with conditionner only). It definitely takes some patience and lots of love but it’s really worth it!

I am 13 and all I wear is mascara, so I like tarte better because they have better mascaras than too faced , more natural. Since you are just@sephoraaaiiiii wrote:What kind of makeup do you prefer Tarte or Too Faced?a tween I would recommend you get a mascara, a blush, and a lipgloss, and tarte has all of these. The Tartiest mascara is really good, their amazonian clay blush, and the lipglosses! but NO LIPSTICK. doesnt look good on 12 year olds.

Sorry it's long, should have broken it up into separate replies rather than just separate paragraphs... Also, sidenote, my favourite anti-frizz oil product brand is GÖT 2 B. I think it said spmething along the lines of Frizz-Ease on the bottle, but I'm not 100% sure. This product has worked wonders in the past when I decided to straighten/style my hair. Currently, I'm using one by Garnier Fructis, but it's just not the same. This one is lighter than the GÖT 2 B one, and I liked how almost sticky the other was since it was almost like an extra light duty hair gel that didn't have the TEXTURE of a hair gel and left my hair still feeling soft and ultra shiny. A little note to remember, you definitely want to add the GÖT 2 B stuff while you're hair is still wet or damp to keep it from being noticeable you added product to your hair. I do this with everything I use, so it's just a rule of thumb for me. You can figure out what works best for you through experimentation.

@lissyC I have both curly and straight hairs (mostly straight though), and both the curly and the straight ones end up in single strand knots. Ive noticed that the single strand knots seem to cause more damage and more single strand knots, so what I do is feel for them when I’m watching TV and use a pair of hair cutting scissors to trim right above the knot in just that one strand. If anyone has product recommendations, I would love to hear those too!

@OliviaTallent Products that contain oils and/or butters can build up on your hair, as can dry shampoo if you use it. If you have low porosity hair, you'll suffer from more buildup than other types. Hard water is also a problem (you'll need a chelating shampoo to help with that).  Any shampoo marked "clarifying" will do the trick, but I recommend OGX Coconut Water Shampoo. It has an ingredient that will remove CG-friendly but non-water-soluble polymers. Since clarifying tends to dry out hair, make sure to follow up with a deep conditioner! Once every 3-4 weeks should suffice.

My all time favourite hair care brand is Shea Moisture ♡ My favourite line of theirs is the Manuka Honey and Yogurt one, it leaves my hair so soft and touchable, although the Coconut and Hibiscus is also a very nice one. I found my hair loves anything Shea Moisture while it did not like Davines or DevaCurl, and the added bonus is Shea moisture is way cheaper and more ethical. I just wash it, condition it then add a tiny bit of product to it (usually a curl cream or gel). sometimes if I have a few hours I plop it, however I can wash, scrunch, and go with this routine if I have to and it is super simple.

@SausalitoGal THEY DID? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I just pulled it out of my crazy, overflowing bin of deluxe size styling products the other day, and I loved what it did for me. &$%#^@! My hair is more of a 2 than a 3, so I'm not sure that I'll be the most help. For definition and frizz-fighting, I've liked the Ouidad Heat & Humidity Gel (regular hold, not strong). I plan to try some of their other products, like the VitalCurl mousse and PlayCurl foam. I also like the DevaCurl line, but the products I use are probably too light for you!
