So, I use Treseme Keratin Smooth Conditioner in the shower.Occasionally(when i have some) I'll use a hair oil right after. I'll putmy hair ina towel and when I take it out I use a combination of leave in condioner sprays, anti-friz sprays, etc. along with a spray bottle of water. Specifically, Thrix Hair Food is a staple, then John Frieda's Dream Curls spray. Lately I have also used John Frieda's DailyNourishment, and Brazilian Blowout's Shine & Shield Spray Shine. While I use the sprays and my hair is still damp, I will scrunch my hair. This also allows me to feel where I might need to spray more. Once Im satisfied, I dont really touch it and then I let it dry. On days when I use mousse, I wont put it in a towel. Instead, while it is fresh from the shower, I will flip my hair over and apply 2 egg-sized dollops of Treseme's Flawless Curls extra hold mousse all over my hair and the use a showercomb to spred it out. Then I take my hair dryer and scrunch my hair as I dry it.

Deva curl is my absolute favorite, they have many products to choose from and they have certain product for certain textures. I also am a huge fan of Aussie. It’s very affordable too! I have mostly 3c hair and it’s very thick. These products keep my hair defined and moisturized

I was actually having the same problem not too long ago! I started using the DevaCurl line. I use the DEVACURL - Low-Poo Delight Mild Lather Cleanser, DEVACURL - One Condition Original Daily Cream Conditioner, and every couple of washes the DEVACURL - Deep Sea Repair Seaweed Strengthening Mask. After washing I put in the DEVACURL - WAVE MAKER™ Touchable Texture Whipand IGK - Sold Out Curl Priming Basecoat. I scrunch these last two into my hair. I have found that using these has REALLY defined my curls and made my hair feel sooo much healthier! I try to make sure not to use any heat styling tools on my hair, and I avoid brushing my hair, unless I'm either just about to wash it, or I REALLY need to brush!! Hope this helps!!

You Might also try the Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It, air dry cream. It seems to smooth and de frizz and somehow evens out the waves on my hair to just look better than if I air dry alone. My hair is very long, pretty thick and unevenly wavy.  Good luck! @Nicky121

I’m sorry your Devacut didn’t turn out how you wanted @curlychiquita. I have been through a fair share of stylist that were certified and had positive reviews through word of mouth but still managed to butcher my hair. Fortunately, I have found someone that I have enjoyed going to for the past 4 years. @Ashh40 I also get headaches after awhile from the tugging and tightness from wearing my hair up in a ponytail, bun or brushing it out too hard. I am not tender headed but that stress plus the pressure on the scalp maybe a trigger to migraines but that is only my assumption and would be best evaluated by a medical professional.

Hi, @Agosrani!  After towel drying my hair and using Verb Ghost Oil, I bend over at the waist and scrunch B'Leave In in my fine, curly/wavy hair.  I then air dry my hair.  For more curl definition, I'll do the same, but start out with DevaCurl Wave Maker first (or you can mix the two together).

@Laura2525 I love Biolage Hydrasource Conditioning Balm; it's a big seller at Ulta.  I also like DEVACURL - One Condition Original Daily Cream Conditioner.  Phytojoba is also good, as is Neutrogena Triple Moisture Conditioner (the one that is a mask and comes in a tub).  I've also heard good things on BIC about Briogeo.  Good luck!

@mcam sorry for the late reply! The Devacurl products haven't worked particularly well for me, however I do like their  DEVACURL - No-Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser  on the infrequent times I shampoo (maybe once every three weeks or so). That being said, one of my friends likes Devacurl more than Briogeo and she has similar curls to me (3B) so it could be either! I'd recommend trial kits or going in store and asking for samples. I've found the folks at my Sephora have been great at giving samples I can use 2-3 times which has been super helpful at letting me figure out what will work before I buy it. I know you can return products to sephora, but I'd rather not waste if I can avoid it!

@junescot A long time ago, I use to use an bonnet that would attach to the end of a hair dryer. Not my preferred method but it gets the job done. Nowadays, I try to avoid the use of heat as much as I can. I prefer air drying and just looping clips around the top of my hair to add volume or using a microfiber turban.

Yeah I know curls seems to grow slowly, I’ve been curly all my thirty-something life lol. I swear after my last cut and balayage the top part of my hair is barely wavy , while in the back of my hair Olaplex + flaxseed gel brought back to me my corkicelli pattern and it is (slowly but steady) growing ... I am wondering if the balayage job has been so bad it burned it or if happened because of the weird and horrible way she cut it (slicing it with the side of che scissors instead of cutting). So I look like a have a 80s mullet and want to cry every time I look at myself in the mirror.

Hi @kattvang, the dandruff you are experiencing may be contributed from the weather, infection, hard water, hormones, over/under use of products, etc. and maybe suggested that you see a dermatologist. I also have curly hair (3b/3c) with a scalp that tends to get dry especially during the colder months. So far the hair routine that has worked for me is alternate using a sulfate, paraben and silicone free co-wash once a week then an exfoliating scrub the following week. I also use a tangle teaser to massage the product into my scalp. I will use a hot oil treatment and hair mask twice a month to retain the moisturize back into my hair.
