@Elliem819 Sensitivity, mild subtype 1 rosacea, and occasional breakouts over here! I've never tried Tata Harper because a lot of her products contain fragrance, which is a no-no for my skin. I've really enjoyed the Youth to the People Superfood cleanser and eye cream, and I'm going to try one of their creams next, either the Air-Whip Moisture Cream or Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream. Their ingredient list is really clean, and so far I haven't had a single reaction.

Hi @maddiebuckalew,   I have found that this can happen to me too if my Beauty Blender is a little too damp and I pick up my loose powder, it will start to pile and look weird! I'm not sure what your method of application maybe when applying powder to break. If it is a beauty blender try squeezing out any access water that may still be stuck! I hope this helps   -Helen

@bball3316 I can’t speak on the tatcha because I haven’t tried it, but I second @RebeccaBT suggestion of the Laura Mercier hydrating primer! It feels like the face/foundation equivalent of putting a touch of balm under a matte liquid lip - makes foundation so much more comfortable to wear, and won’t cake up or anything! I like all of the Laura Mercier primers, can’t go wrong with any of them! (My fave is the luminous one, but definitely go for the hydrating one because dryness is your concern)

As someone who has dry skin, I did not like that foundation for that very reason. Went on dry, and stayed looking dry. If you're looking for something that's more flattering on dry skin, try the LANCôME - Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation. It's full-coverage and matte, but works well on my skin and dry patches.

@Lena7705 I have combo skin with rosacea and occasional breakouts, and I absolutely swear by MAKE UP FOR EVER - Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation. It doesn't cling to my dry patches or highlight my uneven texture, looks beautiful all day long, and doesn't require a primer for everyday use (I do use one if I need it to last through a special event or for more than 8 hours). I'm truly obsessed with it.

I have a light-medium (or rather deep-light) skin tone, BUT I also have true olive undertones. A lot of cosmetic brands and beauty advice from magazines, blogs, etc. seem to use "olive" interchangeably with "tan." This is not 100% accurate, and unfortunately it leaves out the needs of olive-undertoned people with lighter complexions. Some brands are better than others, but it is a crapshoot for me most of the time to find foundation, concealer, lip, and cheek color. I've NEVER walked away from a MAC counter with good looking foundation on my face. I don't buy foundation because I rarely use it, and don't want to go through the hassle of matching/buying/returning 17 different bottles. I stick with sheer tinted fluid like Glossier Skin Tint or some type of sheer tinted moisturizer/sunscreen. I am 27 right now with pretty good skin; however, in the future I know that I will want something that covers more. Usually when I get color matched the results are too light, too orange, or too ashy.

I would recommend using a soft face brush instead of the washcloth to cleanse. I love the Tweezerman Complexion Cleansing brush ($16 from Target and Ulta). It's got densely packed, super soft bristles that clean deeply and gently. I've got very soft washcloths, and even those feel harsh now that I'm using this brush!

Considering that you state that you have been using something new on your face, there is a good chance that is the culprit - so your plan to stop using it for a few weeks is a good idea. I would stick to a simple cleanser, either something you have used in the past that you know doesn't cause any issues for you or something with very few ingredients that is formulated for sensitive acne-prone skin. In terms of a moisturiser, you could try Tatcha's Indigo Cream, or perhaps something from CeraVe - you're basically looking for something that is going to help calm down your skin without being likely to cause further irritation.  I also would strongly recommend that you get yourself some pimple patches to help clear up stubborn spots.

Hey girl. I have just the thing. I have oily skin with occasional dry patches, and I have fair skin. I use the born this way foundation by too faced. This doesn’t cling to your dry patches, it’s got a good amount of coverage, and is great for a long day at work/school. I even use this for my glam looks.
