I bought the full size during the November sale.. I guess I’m gross but I’m lazy enough to just use a finger nail four out of five times. ( 9 out of 10?) It seems like you’re more concerned with getting the right amount out than a hygiene fix though. I wouldn’t recommend the tatcha spoons ( they’re so cute aren’t they! ) but a flatter surface would be best. Ok I really thought of this for five minutes or so. Use a regular spoon, but use the convex side. You want a tiny amount but nice and spread out on the spoon so you can easily get it evenly across your face. If you aren’t using fingernails in a month, I’ll be very impressed

As Elaine said, I like to use light coverage over the summer since my skin tone is in flux. I’m gonna be mom, too—are you using your SPF? If you love your foundation and can afford it, buy the same foundation in a darker shade.. go as dark as you think your skin will go. Blend the two shades, on the back of your hand if that’s what you’ve got, every morning. It’s not as complicated as it sounds bc your skin tone isn’t going from porcelain to bronze overnight, you’ll get used to 2/3 pump light and 1/2 pump dark, etc. works best with a brush, I’ve done it for friends when they only have beauty blenders and it works ok but it’s a little harder to blend very well. The custom color drops work in the same way, I find them to be a bit less forgiving than blending two shades. So, nyx drops to save, darker color to splurge. Or enjoy the freedom of a bb cream that only comes in three colors Glow on 💫

Hi! So here’s the tea: i have foundation. it’s the fenty beauty foundation, but there’s a teensy weensy problem: it broke me out. BAD. i wore makeup one day. i took it completely off as soon as i got home and went on with my skincare regimen. i wake up the next morning and i have brand new, bright red, PAINFUL pimples on my cheeks. i want a foundation that is light to medium coverage, any finish BUT matte, and doesn’t cause breakouts. any recommendations?

I would speak to a dermatologist first about what can be done professionally to reduce the scarring. Ask them about Fractionated Laser Skin Resurfacing treatments. I don't know any foundation that won't settle into the scars but there are some amazing products to keep your skin looking as nice as possible and reducing acne. I highly recommend hyaluronic acid and retinol products. Brands like SkinCeuticals are awesome. Try the CE Ferulic serum, it's pretty expensive but lots of people with problem skin swear by it. Alternatively, Cosmetic Skincare has inexpensive yet very good products like their Hyaluronic acid serum that has helped reduce my hormonal breakouts and helps make them go away faster when they do happen. I don't think products like these will help with your deep scars though. I really think that's one for the dermatologist.

If you have dry skin, you need to use a moisturizer under your makeup. I also recommend Hyaluronic acid after washing your face (it plumps skin and reduces pores and makes it super soft, then moisturizer, a primer if you need it (I find that it smoothes), and then your foundation. Always apply foundation with a BeautyBlender brand sponge (don't buy the fake ones I've tried them all, they suck). I love Makeup Forever HD foundation and I also love Estee Lauder but that one might be too matte for you (great for my combination skin in the tropics I live in). I love Cosmadica Skincare line for their hyaluronic acid serum and their retinol moisturizer. I have also heard a lot of great things about SkinCeuticals.

Firstly, speak to your doctor about the hormone dosage you're at and see if an adjustment might help. Also, speak to a dermatologist and esthetician who has experience working with trans women. They may suggest laser treatments or something else but I would really go to a professional on this one.

@gonerogue I'm the same. I probably have about 25 or more foundations on my vanity right now. I just like to switch it up depending on how I'm feeling or how my skin is doing that day- light to full coverage, dewy, satin or matte, etc. I tell myself I won't buy another one but then I get drawn in.

@apelzek So IDK about the other commenter, but I use it pretty much exclusively with the Nars Sheer Glow foundation or the Nars Tinted moisturizer and I have been very happy with the results and have seen no pilling or peeling- but I generally use makeup pretty lightly and I'll sheer out my foundation with toner/moisturizer on my makeup brush so maybe that has something to do with it?

I have switched to mostly caudalie products and so far I love them! I am 25 and still suffer from acne. since I have been using the caudalie brightening essence and vinopure perfecting serum I have seen a huge difference! I also am using their moisturizing toner to make sure I don't dry out my skin too much. I plan on trying out one of their moisturizers soon, just haven't decided on which one yet

Yeah definitely. They just assume you are the same shade as the last southeast asian woman they just matched when in actuality, my skin tone is way lighter but have a golden undertone which confuses the person matching me. It is definitely worst in Singapore though where majority are not of Indian origin.

So I am pretty new to wearing medium to full coverage foundation and new to makeup in general. Last summer I was using a Tarte BB tinted moisturizer, light-medium for beige undertones. For a while it was perfect, it blended well, matched and felt good wearing it. When it got to be fall, It started looking orange and I was having none of that. So I tried a powder, a liquid, and finally fell in love with the stick from MUFE and the hydrating one from Bare minerals. And just sort of found myself doing full coverage because those products really did that well for me.. Now summer is here in AZ, and I’m getting more sun. And the BB cream was great for the pool, wearing full coverage stick foundation with translucent powder doesn’t seem wise, I like to swim. I understand that seasons are going to change some of my products, what I am wondering is how others experience this? What are some great summer products for people who are active too?

I bought my bottle of the beauty blender foundation in the beginning of February and I have been having issues with the pump the entire time I have owned it. Has anyone figured out how to fix this issue? I want to use the rest of what is in the bottle, at first I thought it was empty somehow in the two months I've owned it. Great formula, great foundation, a very poorly executed pump.

@NMS101 I think it depends on how tan "tan" is and whether your discolorations are more brown/gray/green or purple/blue. The Becca correctors are bisques = pink in tone. That works for bluer discolorations (incl. purple). -- If you're under NC40, Becca's Med. to Dark might do the trick. If NC42 or higher, something peach or salmon is likely more in order. Sephora's Orange/Deep concealer might work. And I've found Bobbi Brown Under Eye Corrector in Dark Peach perfect for my skin (golden olive NC42/43ish). HTH!

Personally I wouldn't build a whole routine from only the ordinary, the product ingredients are just too singular and to get the same benefits as a good serum from most higher end brands you'd be adding and mixing SOOO many products. I'd just pick one or two things to focus on to add to an already good skincare routine. So maybe something like niacinamide, salicylic acid, buffet, or one of the oils.
