Concealer shade match

Hi I'm new to using makeup and I don't know if the concealer should be darker than my skin tone so that when I add highlighter it blends closer to my skin tone

Re: Concealer shade match

@mEoRgAn @The concealer is usually a shade or 2 lighter if you want to brighten. It can also be close to your skin tone. Just personal preference.

Re: Concealer shade match

Agree. Usually concealer should either match your skin tone closely or be just slightly lighter depending on what you want it to do. A much darker concealer normally won’t blend into highlighter better, it can actually make the under-eye or highlighted areas look muddier. For beginners, staying very close to your natural skin tone is the safest and easiest option.

Re: Concealer shade match

Hi, @mEoRgAn !  Your concealer should be the same shade or lighter than your foundation (or whatever you're using as a base).  I use a lighter concealer than my foundation and have always been happy with the results.
