Hourglass veil primer

I just bought the hourglass veil mineral primer online and it arrived 2 days ago. I used it today and noticed that the primer is very liquidy. I don't remember it very liquidy in the store when I tried it and for some reason, it dried up my oily skin. Don't know if it's caused by the cold weather or what, I don't know. But after couple hours, my skin feels dry and dehydrated. I feel like I need to dab extra moisturizer just to hydrate it a bit. Is the primer supposed to be liquidy?

Re: Hourglass veil primer

I've had mine for a month now and it does the same thing, it's so runny it's running down my fingers and dropping to the floor before I can catch it! About 2/3 of the time it's been fine, but the other 1/3 it's been really runny or one time it was even sandy and my skin did NOT like that! I also shake it every single day/time I use it, so that's definitely not it....and it's not super brand new like it's been sitting on the shelf and settling. Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer I even tried the travel size before buying the full size and never had this problem and loved it.

like other have said, try shaking it. I've been using this for a while now (on my 3ed bottle), and I always found the newer ones to be a tad more on the liquid side when first opened. I just give it a good shake whenever I use it and eventually it seems to thicken up again.

RE: Hourglass veil primer

I shake my Mineral Veil before squirting out a pump. Sometimes it is more liquid, sometimes it’s a little more whitish mineral. But it all smooths out when I apply. I would say that I also get a little bit dry, but it’s not the primer— it’s colder winter air. So I add more moisturizer into my routine. And I also switched to the Hourglass No. 28 serum primer. It is thicker and seems to help my skin look a little dewy.

RE: Hourglass veil primer

@Anonymous I bought a bottle recently during the vib sale in November and it was like that for the first like week of use and then the texture became normal. I live in an apartment so I don’t think it was the temperature since my box never sat outside. Try giving it a good shake that helped mine. Either way mine is totally fine now and the texture I expected. Hope that helps!

RE: Hourglass veil primer

So I use this primer fairly often and I would not say it’s pure liquid. It is thinner than others, and I don’t find it to be drying (I have dry skin at baseline and am usually very sensitive to this). It does have a mildly silicone like feel once applied. It sounds like your experience is different, maybe they changed it? I’m not sure.
