Covering Genetic Dark Circles

I've noticed that when we talk about "dark circles," often we are referring to very different things! I don't have regular dark circles. Mine are genetic and unavoidable to some extent. They're always there and I'm not even sure if there's a way to "cover" then completely. If you have the same issue, how do you cover yours?! I loved the dermablend undereye concealer stick but I think it's been discontinued. Now I'm using MUF and I'm not totally in love. I do like the Laura mercier setting powder. What's your secret?

RE: Covering Genetic Dark Circles

I believe mine are hereditary from my dad. Mine are very dark. I've used ysl color corrector in peach. It's nice for a light to medium skin tone. I ran out and started using my la girl color corrector in an orange tone. It's definitely very reddish so a little goes a long way but it helps counteract my dark circles. I've used nars creamy concealer which is nice. Right now I've been using tarte's aquacealer concealer and they work nicely together

RE: Covering Genetic Dark Circles

I smile (and die a little inside) when friends complain about dark circles after a night out. I have them after 12 hours of sleep, after cold eye masks & jade rollers, after days of relaxation...lord help me if I actually DO have a hangover! 🙃 MAC Pro Longwear Concealer is my mainstay. Thick, creamy, stays put.

RE: Covering Genetic Dark Circles

I also have genetically dark circles and I've tried SO many different concealers. Like you, I settled on MUF full coverage and have been using that for the last few years. It's the only one that in my opinion stays where I put it. If you find something better please share! 🙂 my current problem is finding a setting powder that doesn't dull and make me look completely Matte under my eyes. I still want to look a little dewey. You would recommend Laura Mercier for that? So is it colorless or does it have tint to it? I have a yellow undertone so pinkish hues cause problems. Thanks! Good to know I'm not alone in the dark circles club! People always think I'm tired or was crying if they see me with no make up 😕

I have dark circle in my baby pictures so I totally understand where you are coming from. I'm going to follow this and see what people come up with because nothing I try works for me, only sunglasses

RE: Covering Genetic Dark Circles

My favourite is the tarte coloured clay CC undereye corrector. It has a pinkish hue to it and is super creamy and blends super easily, I just use my my fingers to blend it out. You could then go on top with a concealer and powder for more coverage.
